Trumps wall -- breached

Politesse

Amor Vincit Omnia
You're saying a defensive measure that has been tactically obsolete since the end of the medieval era somehow failed to work at repelling the will of an illegal but lucrative multi-billion dollar industry? I am shocked. Shocked.

I have said for over a year that I can go to any hardware store and buy items to go over, go under or go through Trump's wall. What a waste of taxpayer money.

"Turns out, the wall is working about as well as can be expected, which is not that well. The Washington Post reports that smugglers have basically modified your standard issue cordless power tool that you could find at your local hardware store to saw through the new portions of the wall in just minutes. Border agents told the Post that after the smugglers slice through the barrier’s steel-and-concrete bollards, they are able to push the steel through, creating a passageway big enough to fit humans and drugs."

So what is your solution to keep these illegal aliens out of our country?

Building a wall isn't the answer. How about helping their countries really develop so they can have jobs and decent lives at home?

That sounds like a full-time job. But I'd take it, if it meant Americans could legally buy property in their country.

...Until then, I'm for walls, armed personnel, cobras, whatever it takes at whatever cost.

Maybe dog lines like we used in Tasmania to keep convicts from escaping Port Arthur.

Dog-Line at Eaglehawk Neck

Orbital laser cannons ?

Breed cobras and venomous water snakes ?

Green cards if they promise their allegiance to Emperor Trump ?

I don't like Latin American countries because they're greedy. They act like they can do anything they please, come here make all their dreams come true. Yet I can't buy land in their countries... That's not fair.

...They always lazily say "that's just the way it is". Until that attitude changes, then border walls are just the way it is too. And ICE is just the way it is too.

But it is good to know you aren’t racist or anything.

Wall does not mean impenetrable. Without any border wall you will have a giant "passageway big enough to fit humans and drugs" thousands of miles long. Have fun

If a nation can not support it's own people it has no merit in existing. Concede sovereignty, simple.

Yep, if they agree to allowing U.S. citizens to buy their land and businesses, it would be a first step. Something that would benefit them.

...I know too many people here in California who work in the US and have homes in Mexico. You know you can build a brand new house there for only $30,000.

My point was not about land purchasing. It was about acknowledging that some nations will never develop to a standard of the 1st world. If those nations can not develop using internal systems then providing foreign aid is just welfare for a nation. Some nations are limited due to lack of resources. Same are limited due to geography. Some are limited due to history especially post-Ottoman Empire, Post-Spanish Empire, Post-British 2nd Empire carved up nations. The NA colonies federated. The other colonial empires fragmented. That fragmentation and maintaining it for mostly ethnic reasons is ignored as a problem. So if people want to maintain their limited and 3rd world states, let them.

Sure. General outsourcing of industry in general proves this beyond the example itself.

Yes, but for taking advantage of our taxpayer dollars, as they do, we should be allowed to exploit their low living costs. It's called a square deal.
