I recall that claim too.
How can he believe that expressing such a
silly self-serving opinion would boost his stock
in the eyes of voters & supporters, eh.
If I win the election then I won it, but if I lose it's because of fraud.
It's already worked for him in other areas.

It's easy to claim fraud.
- The process isn't visible to the masses.
- His cult wants to believe it....If it can be true, then it must be.
- There is no disproving it to their satisfaction because that
process also isn't visible to the masses.

Here's how Donald Trump sabotaged the Republican midterms

I'd say that if Trump hurt the Republicans, it wasn't by endorsing candidates. That would imply that there are people who would have voted for Oz, for example, but learned that Trump recommended him, so didn't vote or voted Democratic? Is that credible?

If Trump hurts them, he likely hurts them other ways, such as by implying that elections are rigged against Republicans, so they are less likely to vote. This likely cost them the Senate in 2020, when both Democratic candidates for US Senator beat incumbents in a red state.

He also is a reminder of what the Republican party stands for, since it has never disavowed his criminality, although I'm not so sure that matters to too many Republican voters. The January 6th hearings, NYC indictments of the Trump Organization for financial crimes, and finding classified documents in Trump's home didn't help the Republicans any. Trump is like the recently paroled pedophile uncle that nobody wants to come to Thanksgiving, but nobody in the family wants to talk about, either.

Yes, but the extent of it is unknown.
It could also inspire reluctant voters
to come out to vote against someone
just cuz Trump stumped for'm.

True, but all it revealed was they have a massive lack of knowing how the elections are conducted.

Ignorance is one of Trump's greatest allies.
Prejudice too.
That they very much are. Trump himself isn't even that bright, but he is really damn good at what he does know and does well.
And I like the term Trumpty Dumpty, about as much as I like Bojo. We need a discussion as to what a Trumpty Dumpty is. Like that discussion about what a Rusty Venture is, lmao.

No - Trump is not an idiot.
Trump is not an idiot in everything. But in the areas that are outside of his area of expertise he is. Do you remember when he caused Dr. Birx to perform a facepalm? He was making comments that he should have known were incorrect. They were so idiotic that there was an involuntary facepalm by Dr. Birx. Ahhh, the good old days.
