Good point. The Israelis have been a small, hated ethnic enclave surrounded by angry neighbors for nearly 80 years. As I see it, they've had two choices: Be nice, or be mean and aggressive. They've chosen the latter. How long they can maintain their precarious position is anyone's guess, especially considering their dependence on US aid to maintain their military might.Palestinians are at ZERO RISK of being exterminated, zero.
Israelis will always be at some risk of total annihilation.
Consider that when you think about "proportionality".
Nothing stays the sameI doubt it. Noöne's trying to address the causes of the problem.
The two sides are just doubling down with the actions that caused the dispute in the first place. The solution to a dispute is not to repeat the actions that led to the dispute.
If by peace you mean the Gazans go back to living under brutal conditions of occupation and Israelis continue regular civilian life, then I agree with you. However, those brutal conditions would eventually lead to the rise of more terrorism. If Hamas were to actually seek peace and stop firing off rockets into Israel, there would be peace.

What is sad, is what israel is doing is creating more HAMAS (resistance). Now they will come from all sides and israel cannot blow them all up.First I’d like to say that I think what Israel is doing is wrong. Also I think many people don’t understand why Israel is doing what they’re doing. The reason why they’re doing what they’re doing is out of fear that the same thing would’ve happened to them had they done nothing. Also they’re acting extreme to ensure a hamas attack won’t ever happen again. This is their reasoning. Personally I think they should’ve found another way.

It appears as though the fear and hatred will continue until everyone finally feels "enough". It took two world wars for that to be the case in Europe but still after terrible destruction of lives and properly we still have Russia starting a war with Ukraine. Japan was ready to prolong the war until the bitter end which was two atomic bombs causing horrible destruction.Nothing stays the same
