Growing up, Mom always told me, ‘The answer to life is yes.’”

That was Cecile Richards, president of Planned Parenthood, speaking at Barnard College’s commencement.

Cecile Richards’s mother was Texas governor Ann Richards, and in her speech she went on to praise another feminist icon, Margaret Sanger, the mother of Planned Parenthood. In describing the “movement” Sanger gave birth to, however, the younger Richards left out the eugenic rock upon which Planned Parenthood was founded.

I found this pro-life article about Planned Parenthood to be very interesting. I thought some of you on here might enjoy it as well. Personally, I believe that abortion ought to be completely illegal.

I don't tend to find such articles enjoyable. I'm a hardcore pro-lifer which is why I support Planned Parenthood. They prevent more abortion than all the hellfire preaching ever. They give people the information, resources, and support that reduce crisis pregnancies.

And real pro-lifers know that sometimes abortion is the pro-life choice. Do you know what an ectopic pregnancy is, don't you?

Even if Planned Parenthood had some unsavory concepts from a prior age, it does not embody
them now. Tis similar to the Democratic Party, which once fought to preserve the right to
own & abuse a fellow human being. Things are what they are, not what they were.

It is irresponsible and uncaring to give a blanket judgement that people can't have abortions no matter what.

Giving birth is a huge responsibility. We should not be surprised that it scares many people to the point of refusing it.

People who truly want to make abortions less frequent should attempt to diminish the social stigma, not raise it. Encourage adoptions and accept people who do not feel up to a childbirth and raising as they are.

Whatever you do, avoid the foolish and destructive temptation of telling other people that they must take a responsibility that they do not want. Few things are more harmful and so widespread.

Sooo...you would decree that an impregnated 14 year old rape victim carry an unwanted fetus to term? Good on you.

Yes, I believe that a 14 year old rape victim girl should have to carry her unborn child to term. The reason why is because to get an abortion would be murder in my opinion.

You've never been in those shoes have you? Do you know how psychologically damaging it could be to her to carry a fetus that belonged to the man who brutally raped her? How do you justify the psychological, emotional and spiritual torment you would be putting her through?
