Unisex toilets

Oh I don't know...

We drove around one of the Hawaiian Islands, and out in the boondocks, - finally had to go.

We spotted an outhouse and went running. My friend opened the door first, and jumped back.

I didn't know what was wrong with her, so I opened the door to look, - OH HELL! And jumped back!

The walls were covered with what looked like about a hundred hand-size black spiders!

We peed outside in the weeds.

Is it because you thought they'd be offended at your using their facilities?

There was a public restroom at a particular campsite we were at last year that fell into the "oh HELL no" category. Nasty. Squatting behind a bush was much preferable.

Forgive me but I don't understand. If you meant like white-only restrooms & drinking fountains I'm absolutely against such idiotic idea.

There's a need for toilets, yes, but why make things more complicated and expensive by building different toilets for males and females? What's the point?
Why not separate facilities for separate races, religions or hair colours?

You can't compare a gender separation with racial/religious/hair colour separation.
Having that one extra wall and doors to separate the toilets isn't that much of an expense.

It only ignorance that lives in the aspects of the body.
Race, color, gender, sex, sexuality, physique, body parts, organs, etc are same and bias against one and making division against one is division between all.
If you find racial segregation offensive but gender segregation in toilets necessary, you are biased anyway.
And speaking of walls, then you must have nothing against trump building walls for Mexicans and Muslims to stay out as well?

Sorry but I wouldn't kinda feel comfortable entering a bathroom and seeing a bloody tampon in the toilet, which is very frequent "forgotten object" in public toilets. I in generally avoid public toilets but I'm quite sure people will use sexual predators & rape as excuse against these although I'm not personally sure how strong that argument is.

But seeing a tampon and a piece of poop is about cleanliness and etiquettes.
I've found men's toilet much nastier than of women's.
And also, rapes and transphobic assaults occur in men's toilets too. Men can rape men, women can rape women... And what about children?
They can also be sexually abused by any of the sexes so should they have separate toilets too?
The cost of making 3 different toilets and maintaining them vs one toilet with prhper facility.

Angel of capitalism decides which is cheaper and goes for that option?
You need to research this topic.

Rape occurs in Saudi, Qatar, Pakistan, UAE... So gender segregation isn't very helpful now is it?
And stupid things would be to allow Mughals come to India, break and destroy Hindu temples and build mosques there, impose taxes on Buddhists, Hindus and Jains and try to convert masses into their religion, just like the colonial era of Portuguese and British.
So, every nation did stupid things in the past, many are continuing it till today.

Yes, stoning, beating, discriminating against minorities, after doing the same to women, other religions and other ethnicities... Would have been more suitable in the minds of some people.

It's all what your used to. It wasn't that long ago, in certain regions, that the idea of sharing a bathroom or waiting room with a negro was a shocking idea. I think we'd become accustomed to unisex bathrooms just as easily.

As for modesty, modern bathing attire is often skin tight and leaves little to the imagination. A century ago it would have been scandalous. Conservatives would have predicted bacchanals on the beaches.
We got over it. It became ordinary.

And sexual predation? Gimme a break. I'll bet there's a higher risk of boys being molested than women, in public toilets or locker rooms, yet no-one's calling for age segregation.
