I had to look this up, as this group does not exist in the UK, so far as I know.How is it or was it possible for Lutherans and Calvinists to unite into one denomination when they have so many theological differences between them historically? How can there be Lutheranism and Calvinism within the same denomination?
There's been mergers within the Lutheran church. For example, I was brought up in the American Lutheran Church [ALC synod] but since its merger with a couple of others it's now the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America [ELCA synod]. So, anything is possible.How is it or was it possible for Lutherans and Calvinists to unite into one denomination when they have so many theological differences between them historically? How can there be Lutheranism and Calvinism within the same denomination?
