Hi, so I'm going to keep this post short and sweet, it's a questionnaire for RF.

Form:

**Philosophical Beliefs**

- What is your main philosophical worldview? (e.g. existentialism, pragmatism, humanism, etc.)
- What are some of the most important philosophical questions for you? (e.g. what is the meaning of life, what is the nature of reality, what is the basis of morality, etc.)
- How do you approach philosophical problems and arguments? (e.g. using logic, intuition, experience, authority, etc.)
- How do you evaluate philosophical claims and evidence? (e.g. using criteria of validity, soundness, coherence, consistency, etc.)
- How do you apply your philosophical beliefs to your everyday life and decision making? (e.g. by following certain principles, values, goals, etc.)

**Religious Beliefs**

- What is your religious affiliation or identity? (e.g. Christian, Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, atheist, agnostic, etc.)
- What are some of the core beliefs and practices of your religion or worldview? (e.g. belief in God, karma, reincarnation, prayer, meditation, rituals, etc.)
- How do you relate to other religions or worldviews? (e.g. by respecting diversity, seeking dialogue, challenging differences, etc.)
- How do you cope with doubts or challenges to your religious beliefs? (e.g. by seeking answers, trusting faith, changing views, etc.)
- How do you express your religious beliefs in your personal and social life? (e.g. by attending services, observing holidays, following rules, joining communities, etc.)

**Political Beliefs**

- What is your political orientation or ideology? (e.g. liberal, conservative, socialist, libertarian, etc.)
- What are some of the main political issues or causes that you care about? (e.g. democracy, human rights, environment, economy, security, etc.)
- How do you form and update your political opinions and preferences? (e.g. by researching facts, listening to experts, following news, engaging in discussions, etc.)
- How do you participate in political activities or movements? (e.g. by voting, campaigning, protesting, donating, volunteering, etc.)
- How do you deal with political disagreements or conflicts? (e.g. by compromising, persuading, debating, avoiding, etc.)

My answers:

**Philosophical Beliefs**

- What is your main philosophical worldview? (e.g. existentialism, pragmatism, humanism, etc.) Existentialism
- What are some of the most important philosophical questions for you? (e.g. what is the meaning of life, what is the nature of reality, what is the basis of morality, etc.) Questions regarding morality and the Objective nature of things.
- How do you approach philosophical problems and arguments? (e.g. using logic, intuition, experience, authority, etc.) By asking more questions and pretty much leaving it at that. And lending an open ear to answers, both my own I come up with and the answers of others.
- How do you evaluate philosophical claims and evidence? (e.g. using criteria of validity, soundness, coherence, consistency, etc.) Real world experience, reason, and logic.
- How do you apply your philosophical beliefs to your everyday life and decision making? (e.g. by following certain principles, values, goals, etc.) I use them to help shape my actions and decision-making by trying to apply them in real-world ways, ie wearing my beliefs on my sleeve.

**Religious Beliefs**

- What is your religious affiliation or identity? (e.g. Christian, Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, atheist, agnostic, etc.) Non-theist
- What are some of the core beliefs and practices of your religion or worldview? (e.g. belief in God, karma, reincarnation, prayer, meditation, rituals, etc.) N/A
- How do you relate to other religions or worldviews? (e.g. by respecting diversity, seeking dialogue, challenging differences, etc.) Through open conversation.
- How do you cope with doubts or challenges to your religious beliefs? (e.g. by seeking answers, trusting faith, changing views, etc.) By thinking about things more.
- How do you express your religious beliefs in your personal and social life? (e.g. by attending services, observing holidays, following rules, joining communities, etc.) I keep a lot to myself. Some may say this creates a contradiction between "wearing my beliefs on my sleeve" and me saying that I keep to myself. However, while I'd say that I'm transparent - some people simply don't want to hear it. So in such a case, I keep to myself.

**Political Beliefs**

- What is your political orientation or ideology? (e.g. liberal, conservative, socialist, libertarian, etc.) Progressive socialist
- What are some of the main political issues or causes that you care about? (e.g. democracy, human rights, environment, economy, security, etc.) Democracy, humans rights, LGBT+, economy
- How do you form and update your political opinions and preferences? (e.g. by researching facts, listening to experts, following news, engaging in discussions, etc.) By thinking and re-evaluating given current information.
- How do you participate in political activities or movements? (e.g. by voting, campaigning, protesting, donating, volunteering, etc.) A mixture of things.
- How do you deal with political disagreements or conflicts? (e.g. by compromising, persuading, debating, avoiding, etc.) By talking things out, or by recusing myself from the conversation.

**Philosophical Beliefs**

- What is your main philosophical worldview? (e.g. existentialism, pragmatism, humanism, etc.)

Methodological naturalism and dialectical materialism.

- What are some of the most important philosophical questions for you? (e.g. what is the meaning of life, what is the nature of reality, what is the basis of morality, etc.)

None. I believe there's no universal or objective answer to any of these, so I regard them as individual pursuits at most.

- How do you approach philosophical problems and arguments? (e.g. using logic, intuition, experience, authority, etc.)

All of the above, albeit to varying extents depending on the subject. For example, I use logic when assessing the validity of arguments, and I approach my intuition with caution when it comes to specific subjects because I know that, for example, a layperson's scientific intuition is often limited and that many scientific and mathematical facts are so counterintuitive as to defy belief.

Also, what I regard as authority is qualified, credentialed input, such as scientific consensus, not merely the opinion of an individual expert who may be speaking outside their field of expertise.

- How do you evaluate philosophical claims and evidence? (e.g. using criteria of validity, soundness, coherence, consistency, etc.)

It depends on what they're about. A claim about, say, why evolution happens should be evaluated against the most current knowledge in biology, while a claim about the meaning of life is purely subjective and open-ended.

- How do you apply your philosophical beliefs to your everyday life and decision making? (e.g. by following certain principles, values, goals, etc.)

I strive to uphold the principle of "live and let live" whereby everyone should be free to live however they want as long as they don't harm anyone or encroach on others' freedoms and rights.

**Religious Beliefs**

- What is your religious affiliation or identity? (e.g. Christian, Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, atheist, agnostic, etc.)

Non-theism with some Buddhist leanings.

- What are some of the core beliefs and practices of your religion or worldview? (e.g. belief in God, karma, reincarnation, prayer, meditation, rituals, etc.)

Meditation, but I practice it from a completely secular rather than religious viewpoint.

- How do you relate to other religions or worldviews? (e.g. by respecting diversity, seeking dialogue, challenging differences, etc.)

It depends on the content of the religions or worldviews.

- How do you cope with doubts or challenges to your religious beliefs? (e.g. by seeking answers, trusting faith, changing views, etc.)

I have changed my views many times before based on new evidence and arguments; I just have to find them convincing and that's it. I have no attachment to any one set of beliefs to the point where I would dismiss evidence or challenges against it.

- How do you express your religious beliefs in your personal and social life? (e.g. by attending services, observing holidays, following rules, joining communities, etc.)

I don't and can't at the moment. Thankfully, I feel no need to, and I have a smaller social circle with whom I can fully be myself.

**Political Beliefs**

- What is your political orientation or ideology? (e.g. liberal, conservative, socialist, libertarian, etc.)

A combination of democratic and market socialism.

- What are some of the main political issues or causes that you care about? (e.g. democracy, human rights, environment, economy, security, etc.)

In no particular order:
  • Gender equality
  • LGBT rights
  • Combating poverty
  • Separation of religion and state
  • Religious freedom
  • Neocolonialism and imperialism
  • Measures to combat climate change
  • Animal welfare (such as sound regulation of medical animal testing and provision of shelters for stray animals).
- How do you form and update your political opinions and preferences? (e.g. by researching facts, listening to experts, following news, engaging in discussions, etc.)

All of the above, with the backbone of my approach being listening to different viewpoints and remaining open to new evidence and arguments.

- How do you participate in political activities or movements? (e.g. by voting, campaigning, protesting, donating, volunteering, etc.)

I don't.

- How do you deal with political disagreements or conflicts? (e.g. by compromising, persuading, debating, avoiding, etc.)

It depends on what the disagreement is about, in what context it occurs, and with whom.

Hi, so I'm going to keep this post short and sweet, it's a questionnaire for RF.

Form:

**Philosophical Beliefs**

- What is your main philosophical worldview? (e.g. existentialism, pragmatism, humanism, etc.)
I don't have a single, named world view, I take from (neo-) Platonism, humanism, a bit of cynicism and most of all Agnosticism (includes methodological naturalism).
- What are some of the most important philosophical questions for you? (e.g. what is the meaning of life, what is the nature of reality, what is the basis of morality, etc.)
I don't know what "meaning" means, the nature of reality is a scientific, not a philosophical question. I think the most interesting philosophical questions are mostly esoteric to most people. Are numbers discovered or invented? What is consciousness? Is the nature of "gods" necessarily unknown?
- How do you approach philosophical problems and arguments? (e.g. using logic, intuition, experience, authority, etc.)
Using logic and, when I have thought long enough that I can articulate my thoughts, debate them with other thinkers.
- How do you evaluate philosophical claims and evidence? (e.g. using criteria of validity, soundness, coherence, consistency, etc.) - Yep.
- How do you apply your philosophical beliefs to your everyday life and decision making? (e.g. by following certain principles, values, goals, etc.)
I try to follow principle based on my values. Sometimes pragmatism and misjudgement get in the way.
**Religious Beliefs**

- What is your religious affiliation or identity? (e.g. Christian, Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, atheist, agnostic, etc.)
(Philosophical) Agnosticism.
- What are some of the core beliefs and practices of your religion or worldview? (e.g. belief in God, karma, reincarnation, prayer, meditation, rituals, etc.)
When you lack information, withhold judgement.
- How do you relate to other religions or worldviews? (e.g. by respecting diversity, seeking dialogue, challenging differences, etc.)
Mostly tolerance - unless they collide hard with my core values.
- How do you cope with doubts or challenges to your religious beliefs? (e.g. by seeking answers, trusting faith, changing views, etc.)
I rarely get challenged and when, the debates are usually short.
- How do you express your religious beliefs in your personal and social life? (e.g. by attending services, observing holidays, following rules, joining communities, etc.) - N/A

**Political Beliefs**

- What is your political orientation or ideology? (e.g. liberal, conservative, socialist, libertarian, etc.)
(Realistic) Anarchism
- What are some of the main political issues or causes that you care about? (e.g. democracy, human rights, environment, economy, security, etc.)
Peace, freedom, a liveable environment.
- How do you form and update your political opinions and preferences? (e.g. by researching facts, listening to experts, following news, engaging in discussions, etc.)
Diverse, all of the above.
- How do you participate in political activities or movements? (e.g. by voting, campaigning, protesting, donating, volunteering, etc.)
Voting, petitioning.
- How do you deal with political disagreements or conflicts? (e.g. by compromising, persuading, debating, avoiding, etc.)
Debating.

I would like to preface this with an apology. I'm still in deep introspection regarding my vices and how to best mitigate them while continuing to improve myself. If anything I say here rubs anyone the wrong way, I promise it is not my intention. I think this might be a safer post to respond to because it's just answering questions about myself, so it hopefully doesn't generate too much conflict.

Thank you for being understanding.

My main philosophical worldview is epistemic rationalism, which also leads to moral rationalism. Moral rationalism is not an ethic itself, but is instead a meta-ethic that is compatible with a variety of ethical theories.

The most important philosophical questions to me are pragmatic ones. How can we achieve specific ends or circumstances? I am much more concerned with the "how."

I attempt to approach philosophical problems and arguments through epistemic logics, mostly modal logic, although I should probably write the process out formally more often.

My general approach to new information is skepticism, because there are more false claims than true ones and false claims are more likely to have no evidence for them. Every new claim is therefore more likely to be false than true. However, that likelihood can change in the face of strong empirical evidence, due to statistical constructs such as Bayes Theorem or falsification through experiment. Much of philosophy argues over subjects that cannot be directly tested and I dismiss those conclusions outright, including many rationalist arguments made in favor of intuitionism. My view here can be summarized as a combination of Bayesian epistemology and critical rationalism.

Every decision I make in my daily life is made in reference to rational strategy. I am posting this comment right now as a thought exercise and as an aid in introspection so that I might be able to "get my priorities straight" in order to more consistently act in accordance with my personal values.

The religion I identify with is secular Stoicism, and I am particularly influenced by Chrysippus and Spinoza.

I consider the core belief of my religion to be that of Socratic intellectualism, which is the idea that knowledge is the source of goodness and evil is only committed out of some form of ignorance. Stoicism also promotes materialism and classical pantheism. The core practices (for me) would be dispassion and the cultivation of the cardinal virtues, which are meant to lead to knowledge by assisting in the process of reason.

I find other religions to be a point of interest to me. I am particularly open to comparing my understanding with the teachings of various worldviews to double-check myself. It could be the case that I am wrong about a subject. I have religiously converted countless times in my life, every time due to gaining new information and choosing to restructure my worldview rather than try to rationalize or assimilate the contradictory data.

Doubt is healthy and respectful challenges can be quite productive. While they can lead to distress, the dispassionate response is to remain calm, accept these doubts or challenges, and investigate them with an open mind. I can't honestly say that I always do that consistently, but maybe this post will help by reminding me how I'm supposed to respond.

I express my religious beliefs by trying to remain calm and to help others focus on taking practical, rational action towards their goals or by giving them information that I think might help them make their own plans. I have overdone this sometimes by oversharing or rambling, which is something that I am working on, too. There is a careful balance there.

(e.g. by compromising, persuading, debating, avoiding, etc.)
mmunities, etc.)
On conciliatory days, I am a Social Libertarian, but my actual views are fairly hard line anarchist. The founder of Stoicism, Zeno of Citium, portrayed his ideal society as radically egalitarian and cosmopolitan, with no national borders or even familial hierarchies, and I consider myself to build off of that.

The main political issues and causes that I care about are digital privacy and the freedom of information. Of course, since I value knowledge as the very core of my religion and ethical framework, it's of interest to me that everyone is able to access that information without restriction. In some ways I am a cypherpunk, technolibertarian, or a cryptoanarchist, except I'm also anti-capitalist and culturally progressive. I lean towards the Pirate Party, if anyone here knows what that is.

I form and update my political opinions and preferences the same way that I update my knowledge in general, which is through a variety of sources. I have a particular preference for academic sources and studies. I do not consider the news to be a reliable source of unadulterated information and I have rarely had a discussion where someone brought up useful information that I didn't already know. Most of my new information comes from having someone try to sell me politically charged disinformation that I will later research on my own time and end up debunking, which currently means that I'm learning a lot about transgender and gender non-conforming people. For the record, I am opposed to misgendering and deadnaming and I support making transitioning both socially and medically easier, because the actual scientific data on the subject seems extremely straightforward despite the current wave of transphobia.

I have done quite a bit of volunteer work, which is my preferred method of activism, and that is not contained to digital privacy and freedom of information. Unfortunately, due to my current circumstances, I am no longer able to volunteer with and donate to organizations that I care about, but I am working towards remedying this every single day.

I used to deal with political disagreements by trying to have an open-minded, respectful Socratic dialogue. When I realized that most people use these discussions as attempts at conversion and propaganda and don't actually care about deepening their understanding of the topic, I figured that I had a better chance to get through to them by trying to make some kind of biting insult that would stick with them and make them rethink their position weeks after our argument ended. That has been more efficient, but only marginally, and I think the costs of being such a miserable presence are greater than the return on investment. So I tried having open-minded discussions again, and I tried to modify that approach in a wide number of ways to find a method that would be more successful, but I have come up completely empty. Now I try to simply avoid the subject and deescalate when directly challenged.

**Philosophical Beliefs**

- What is your main philosophical worldview? (e.g. existentialism, pragmatism, humanism, etc.)
Probably a combination of Pragmatism and Stoicism: "It is what it is" to a large degree but I'll try to change what I can, especially if it involves learning from history, my own or history in general

- What are some of the most important philosophical questions for you? (e.g. what is the meaning of life, what is the nature of reality, what is the basis of morality, etc.)
I really don't have any. As a Hindu what I need to know about these things is answered in the Vedas and Upanishads, Purānas and Bhagavad Gita. I became Hindu because when I had these questions and beliefs I found that the questions and answers had a name: Hinduism.

- How do you approach philosophical problems and arguments? (e.g. using logic, intuition, experience, authority, etc.)
I don't anymore. When I had them they were answered in the Vedas and Upanishads, Purānas and Bhagavad Gita.

- How do you evaluate philosophical claims and evidence? (e.g. using criteria of validity, soundness, coherence, consistency, etc.)
I don't.

- How do you apply your philosophical beliefs to your everyday life and decision making? (e.g. by following certain principles, values, goals, etc.)
I try to live by the basic principles of Hinduism: ahimsā (non-violence, non-injury). However, hypocritically I'm not vegetarian.

**Religious Beliefs*
*

- What is your religious affiliation or identity? (e.g. Christian, Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, atheist, agnostic, etc.)
Vaishnava Hindu. The Vaishnava designation means I am a devotee of Vishnu primarily in his incarnation of Krishna.

- What are some of the core beliefs and practices of your religion or worldview? (e.g. belief in God, karma, reincarnation, prayer, meditation, rituals, etc.)
The basic beliefs and practices of "village Hinduism" (non-philosophical, just devotional, as practiced by simple villagers and townspeople): bhakti (devotion to God); the laws and effects of karma and samsara (the cycle of death and rebirth, i.e. reincarnation); rituals to connect with God.

- How do you relate to other religions or worldviews? (e.g. by respecting diversity, seeking dialogue, challenging differences, etc.)
I respect them. All religions are valid and true for their followers but not for everyone. There is no single true religion or beliefs. I would attend the rituals of another religion as long as there were no blood offerings. That is, I would not attend an Aztec ritual or Heathen blót that involved an animal or human sacrifice. I have a different view on the Catholic Mass and Orthodox Divine Liturgy and their wine into blood belief. Actually, I try not to think about it at all because it doesn't affect me.

- How do you cope with doubts or challenges to your religious beliefs? (e.g. by seeking answers, trusting faith, changing views, etc.)
I don't. I have what some might call blind faith, but I've found no reason to doubt my beliefs or faith. I've had some challenges and situations, some of them current and on-going, that I believe I've gotten through and get through only with the help and grace of God and the gods.

- How do you express your religious beliefs in your personal and social life? (e.g. by attending services, observing holidays, following rules, joining communities, etc.)
I pretty much don't attend temple anymore because of the distance since I moved three years ago but given the opportunity I'd do it 3-4 times a week. I perform a personal worship ritual, called puja, at home almost daily. I try to practice, as I mentioned above, ahimsā (non-violence, non-injury). Ahimsā includes thoughts and speech as well as physical actions. I very often catch myself not living up to the words of Sri Krishna "I am seated in the heart of all living entities. I am the beginning, middle, and end of all beings." That is, I very often don't see God in all, especially people.

**Political Beliefs**

- What is your political orientation or ideology? (e.g. liberal, conservative, socialist, libertarian, etc.)
Slightly right of center. I wander a little bit on either side depending on the issue.

- What are some of the main political issues or causes that you care about? (e.g. democracy, human rights, environment, economy, security, etc.)
I don't spend a lot of time on these things.

- How do you form and update your political opinions and preferences? (e.g. by researching facts, listening to experts, following news, engaging in discussions, etc.)
I really don't unless it's something that will seriously affect me. An example is the covid "pandemic". I have another word for it that I won't go into or my own reasons. Suffice it to say I listened and read the "experts" on all sides and drew my own conclusions for what to believe and do or not do. Because it's such a contentious subject that's all I'll say on it.

- How do you participate in political activities or movements? (e.g. by voting, campaigning, protesting, donating, volunteering, etc.)
I don't, except for voting.

- How do you deal with political disagreements or conflicts? (e.g. by compromising, persuading, debating, avoiding, etc.)
I don't get involved anymore. I spent too much time and energy in arguments, disagreements, debates, flame wars, pissing contests and such here and elsewhere, having come to the conclusion that they were a waste of time and energy, and accomplished nothing.

Iti sāhameva - So that's me. :)

Hi, so I'm going to keep this post short and sweet, it's a questionnaire for RF.

Form:

**Philosophical Beliefs**

My view is that Philosophy, in general, is an outdated approach to understanding the Cosmos and ourselves. Philosophy does not require the acknowledgement and mitigation of human flaws and fallibilities inherent in any human philosopher or investigator. Scientific inquiry is the approach that now supersedes and replaces philosophy, in my view. The scientific approach explicitly acknowledges human flaws and fallibility and actively works to mitigate them in the knowledge acquisition process.

**Religious Beliefs**

I have none.

**Political Beliefs**

Q- What is your political orientation or ideology? (e.g. liberal, conservative, socialist, libertarian, etc.)
A- The examples you list have lots of baggage associated with them. In our current political climate I suppose you might call me a centrist. I support and oppose ideas that fall on both sides of the liberal/conservative divide. Perhaps progressive centrist might fit.

Q- What are some of the main political issues or causes that you care about? (e.g. democracy, human rights, environment, economy, security, etc.)
A- Given very recent history, democracy and constitutional principles that protect democracy have become a priority.
Next the economy. Then would come education, with emphasis on students and compensation for teachers, yet opposition to teacher unions and teacher tenure. It is not so much opposition to teacher unions, rather, it is a recognition that unions sole interest is in teacher pay and security, not on education or student welfare. Then I suppose the environment would round out top concerns.

Q- How do you form and update your political opinions and preferences? (e.g. by researching facts, listening to experts, following news, engaging in discussions, etc.)
A- It would include all you suggest along with 60 years of personal experience.

Q- How do you participate in political activities or movements? (e.g. by voting, campaigning, protesting, donating, volunteering, etc.)
A- voting, volunteering and some donating. Never participated in campaigns nor in protests.

Q- How do you deal with political disagreements or conflicts? (e.g. by compromising, persuading, debating, avoiding, etc.)
A- Discussion over debate. I find debate leads to entrenchment of positions. I like to find some point or points of common ground or shared values, then, hopefully come away with softening the others position (if hard opposite to my own). I have no expectation of dramatically changing anyone's strongly held beliefs.

Hi, so I'm going to keep this post short and sweet, it's a questionnaire for RF.

Form:

**Philosophical Beliefs**

- What is your main philosophical worldview? (e.g. existentialism, pragmatism, humanism, etc.)

Hard to put it in a single word. I adhere very much to what is termed 'analytical' philosophy. A style of philosophizing more than a set of doctrines.

I'm something of a naturalist, although not so much a materialist. (As I conceive it, nature includes mathematical and logical relationships, the "laws of physics", information and similar things that don't have mass or physical locations.)

- What are some of the most important philosophical questions for you? (e.g. what is the meaning of life, what is the nature of reality, what is the basis of morality, etc.)

Epistemology and metaphysics mostly. What is there to be known and how can limited finite beings like ourselves know those things.
- How do you approach philosophical problems and arguments? (e.g. using logic, intuition, experience, authority, etc.)

Generally by asking questions. If I get an answer, by asking questions about the answer. You only have to repeat that surprisingly few times to arrive at the frontiers of human knowledge.

- How do you evaluate philosophical claims and evidence? (e.g. using criteria of validity, soundness, coherence, consistency, etc.)

A don't think of anwers as final or conclusive. Questions can always be asked about what the words in the answer mean, about what kind of assumptions are being imported so as to answer in that way, about how the truth of the answer can be determined etc. So in a way it's an infinite regress.

I weight answers by how plausible they seem to me. That's largely intuitive I guess, and coherence and consistency do play a big part in it. (Validity and soundness are more about logical deduction. Few of our answers are logical deductions.)

- How do you apply your philosophical beliefs to your everyday life and decision making? (e.g. by following certain principles, values, goals, etc.)

My philosophical ideas about reality and knowledge don't play a huge role in my practical everyday decision making. But they do play a huge role in what I take my purpose in life to be: searcher into the mysteries that surround us at every moment.

- What is your religious affiliation or identity? (e.g. Christian, Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, atheist, agnostic, etc.)

In terms of knowledge and belief (not just religious), I'm a stout agnostic. In terms of practice, I'm influenced to some extent by Theravada Buddhism.
- What are some of the core beliefs and practices of your religion or worldview? (e.g. belief in God, karma, reincarnation, prayer, meditation, rituals, etc.)

The agnosticism should be obvious in how I answered the philosophical questions. I see Buddhism more as the basis of my personal ethics, the five pancasila precepts mostly.
- How do you relate to other religions or worldviews? (e.g. by respecting diversity, seeking dialogue, challenging differences, etc.)

I don't think that any of them have The Answer (assuming it exists). But they all have their own perspectives on the answer that might prove useful to me in my own search. So I tend to listen to them and try not to confront or challenge them.

- How do you cope with doubts or challenges to your religious beliefs? (e.g. by seeking answers, trusting faith, changing views, etc.)

My thinking is all about doubts!
- How do you express your religious beliefs in your personal and social life? (e.g. by attending services, observing holidays, following rules, joining communities, etc.)

I don't typically participate in organized religion. I do occasionally attend services (of all kinds) if I'm accompanying somebody who finds them meaningful. (That's how I learned to love the old Catholic Latin mass. I'm starting to appreciate Eastern Orthodoxy now.)
- What is your political orientation or ideology? (e.g. liberal, conservative, socialist, libertarian, etc.)

I suppose that I'd call myself a conservative of the 'populist' sort.

Some may say this creates a contradiction between "wearing my beliefs on my sleeve" and me saying that I keep to myself. Remind me never to read one of your long posts.

I don't know, don't even really know what it means but the whole business sounds like lot of boffins sitting around talking about stuff they have no practical experience of so I'll probably die being philosophical belief ignorant.

**Religious Beliefs**

- What is your religious affiliation or identity? (e.g. Christian, Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, atheist, agnostic, etc.)

- How do you express your religious beliefs in your personal and social life? (e.g. by attending services, observing holidays, following rules, joining communities, etc.)

None. I see them all as a waste of time but as long as they don't come knocking on my door trying to convert me I follow the "who cares what people believe" rule.

**Political Beliefs**

- What is your political orientation or ideology? (e.g. liberal, conservative, socialist, libertarian, etc.)
- What are some of the main political issues or causes that you care about? (e.g. democracy, human rights, environment, economy, security, etc.)

Probably left wing but I don't vote along party lines. I try and work out which candidate will do a good job in general and a good job for my local electorate. But our voting system is likely very different to yours so you probably have no idea what I'm talking about.

Nothing my eye, Something for sure
Hi, so I'm going to keep this post short and sweet, it's a questionnaire for RF.

Form:

**Philosophical Beliefs**

- What is your main philosophical worldview? (e.g. existentialism, pragmatism, humanism, etc.)
There's many virtues based on trustworthiness and deservingness, love and empathy. Charity is the highest virtue.
- What are some of the most important philosophical questions for you? (e.g. what is the meaning of life, what is the nature of reality, what is the basis of morality, etc.)
The nature of reality, and also the root source of all natural intelligence. I love existential questions about ultimate existence.
- How do you approach philosophical problems and arguments? (e.g. using logic, intuition, experience, authority, etc.)
Logic, and intuition coupled with experience.
- How do you evaluate philosophical claims and evidence? (e.g. using criteria of validity, soundness, coherence, consistency, etc.)
Two categories are the abstract, and the physical. Abstract evidence involves values, intuition, experience, and logic. Physical evidence is science.
- How do you apply your philosophical beliefs to your everyday life and decision making? (e.g. by following certain principles, values, goals, etc.)
I've found 100 virtues that don't contradict each other and are consistent. I try to incorporate them even when I don't feel like it.
**Religious Beliefs**

- What is your religious affiliation or identity? (e.g. Christian, Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, atheist, agnostic, etc.)
Atheist who believes in an eternal source reality not at all godlike.
- What are some of the core beliefs and practices of your religion or worldview? (e.g. belief in God, karma, reincarnation, prayer, meditation, rituals, etc.)
Introspection, reflection, and meditation to gain clarity, simplicity, priorities, and focus. Know my limits and limitations, reduce ignorance. There's no moral force, nor moral authority, but right morals have causes and effects that are only positive, and productive while the wrong morals can be damaging, and dangerous.
- How do you relate to other religions or worldviews? (e.g. by respecting diversity, seeking dialogue, challenging differences, etc.)
I'm in opposition to fundamentalism that takes myth as literal history. I'm in opposition to eternal doom religions. I respect all other kinds of religions so long as they do NOT promote obvious vices.
- How do you cope with doubts or challenges to your religious beliefs? (e.g. by seeking answers, trusting faith, changing views, etc.)
I embrace any doubts or challenges.
- How do you express your religious beliefs in your personal and social life? (e.g. by attending services, observing holidays, following rules, joining communities, etc.)
Dispassion til logic serves the correct response. Compassion is earned trust. I try to be charitable.
**Political Beliefs**

- What is your political orientation or ideology? (e.g. liberal, conservative, socialist, libertarian, etc.)
I believe that all life has an obligation to give back to society because of the freedoms and rewards that a free society has given them. The more freedom, reward, and power one enjoys the bigger the duty to society they have. Capitalism needs a counter balance system and needs fair rules to be enforced upon it.
- What are some of the main political issues or causes that you care about? (e.g. democracy, human rights, environment, economy, security, etc.)
I believe in foundational equality with all fair law abiding people. An evergrowing economy will eventually destroy us all if left unchecked.
- How do you form and update your political opinions and preferences? (e.g. by researching facts, listening to experts, following news, engaging in discussions, etc.)
pro, con, anti, and neutral sources. The news should only report events, facts, and leave their expert opinions to themselves.
- How do you participate in political activities or movements? (e.g. by voting, campaigning, protesting, donating, volunteering, etc.)
I have not found any I am willing to join.
- How do you deal with political disagreements or conflicts? (e.g. by compromising, persuading, debating, avoiding, etc.)
Depends on the level of engagement
