Unwritten Rules...

Which unwritten rules do you believe should be taught and forced upon people, and which should be disbanded completely?

I would love it if people always chewed with their mouths closed. The sight and sound of someone chewing with their mouths open absolutely annoys and disgusts me.

I hate it when a bus or subway is full and someone is lying down on two seats.

Finally, I think it should be a rule for people to turn off their cellphones when meeting someone for dinner.

Which ones would you enforce or disband?

BTW this is my 1000th post!

(edit: I think people should mind their own business when it comes to the details of other peoples lives.) I think I ought to be allowed to pinch a certain person every time she begins a sentence on a subject I never asked her opinion on with, "You know what you should do..."

edit: In order to be compliant with this thread's OP, I'd like to amend that to say: "I think I ought to be required to pinch..."

I wouldnt mind to see a rule put on the books about spitting gum out in a parking lot because my shoes seem to have a magnetic field that always finds every piece.

Gotta say this one bugs the hell out of me as well. Even in movies I can't stand the on-screen eating sounds characters make. Rationally, it doesn't make a lot of sense, but

You know that used chewing gum that people stick onto garbage cans and tunnel walls? Well, I don't think people should chew it again after its been on there for more than thirty seconds.

What? Me worry?
The passing lane! The passing lane should be sacrosanct. They law should be: Pass or get out of the way; never go less than the posted speed in the passing; and never apply your brakes in the passing lane unless it is an emergency or completely unavoidable. Citizens should be deputized over cell phones to enforce these rules when necessary.

It is a law in a number of states. :) Cops refer to the people who pace traffic at the posted speed limit by riding the left lane as "left lane vigilantes". They can get a ticket. As can someone who slams on their brakes just to be a dick, making you rear end them, and then saying "but officer, something ran in front of me". Nope, does not work. The person who slammed on their brakes will most likely get a ticket, as will the other person if they were following too close.

Kewl. Maybe one day we, too, will become enlightened.

I would like to be greeted with a passionate kiss from each hot woman my eyes come into contact with.

This is might not be an unwritten rule but it definitely should be such and more importantly it should be enforced.

It should be an unwritten rule that:

1. Old people should not be allowed in supermarkets on weekends, or on the roads during the morning and evening commutes. They have all week and all day during the week to do their errands.

2. Timid people should not be allowed on the roads during bad weather.

3. Before driving an SAV (Suburban Assault Vehicle aka SUV) or any 4x4 off the lot, the buyer should be given a test on their handling and knowledge of driving said vehicle. The primary question being "Is 4x4 good on ice?" If the answer is "Why yes, yes it is" the vehicle must not be sold to the person, rather, they should be directed to the nearest Yugo dealer (I know, there are none :D).

Google should be forbidden to use the colors blue yellow and red together on the same page. They just don't know what they're doing!
