Urban Legends

Every culture has it's own urban legends and, a lot of the time, they're universally the same.

One of the most famous urban legends in Sarajevo is the story of a young Muslim couple who discover their car has been stolen. The rest of the story, you'll have to see for yourself...

Have you this story among your people? Is it identical, or different in some way?

(And no laughing at the Bosnian Muslim woman! NONE! I forbid it!)

Great way to get people out of their home in order to steal the furnishings!

I didn't have to watch the video--I actually watched a television show called 'Mostly True Stories' where this particular urban legend was featured. It's ingenious, really.

America has a slew of urban legends. One of the most notorious of which is 'The Hook.'

Edit: There's also 'Bloody Mary,' if you consider that an urban legend.

There is also an urban legend about vacationing in the Caribbean and stories of people returning from their idyllic paradise and having their photographs developed to find the hotel/resort staff putting their toothbrush in unseemly orifices.

I think the advent of digital cameras has probably lessened the liklihood that this one will survive.
