US a covert police state?

Just seems like all the various continents and different operations going on, and taking the time to spy on everything going on domestically, would be a little much for two people to handle and coordinate successfully, aware of all the necessary details, etc. I could be wrong.

What do you think the president does all day? I would say 50-60% of his time is spent meeting with people/receiving reports on the various operations that go on around the world.

Granted, the ones that require his knowledge (chances are he has criteria for what he cares about and what he doesn't), not everything does.

I think that any organization that is coordinating a social movement on a national-scale should be watched by the government. Just because this movement was peaceful doesn't mean the next movement will be. It's the government's duty to be vigilant so it can safeguard its citizens from future threats.

"Watched," not harassed.

The FBI, National Guard, Police, &al have a long history of propaganda, subversion and violence against dissident groups.

It's all relative.

Compared to Iran or Pakistan or Saudi Arabia, I'd say America is pretty free.

Compared to Sweden or New Zealand, America is not as free, but personally I wouldn't call it a police state.

I lived in America for several years and I thought it was pretty nice. There are a lot of things you can do in America that you can't do where I'm from, so in my opinion, America is a very pleasant place to live.

I honestly think that the United States is increasingly becoming a police state and it does worry me.
