Us Soldier guilty of killing Afghan Civilians

Starsoul

Truth
A US Army staff sergeant has pleaded guilty to attacks on Afghan civilians as part of a deal which requires him to give evidence against other soldiers.
Robert Stevens was sentenced to nine months ( really??how cruel!!) in prison and demoted after he admitted "shooting in the direction" of two Afghans, and lying to officials.

Sgt Stevens is one of 12 soldiers charged over the attacks on civilians.
Army prosecutors have said the other accused men conspired to kill unarmed Afghans for sport and to cover up the killings by fabricating a story about coming under attack.

One man, Staff Sgt Calvin Gibbs, is accused of taking finger bones, leg bones and a tooth from Afghan corpses as trophies and of showing fingers to another soldier and threatening to kill him if he reported drug use to commanding officers.

Gone are the days of honor, valor and discipline in the armed forces. Nowadays they just slap uniforms on any random, two-bit thug. And then our culture demands that we unquestionably worship them for "defendin' our freedom."

Yeah, that's true, but at least we're not knowingly allowing them homosexuals to serve in the military. We do have standards, you know.

i don't think we should unquestionably worship anything or anybody.

In the U.S. law enforcement and military are practically seen as infallible embodiments and enforcers of virtue and wholesomeness like some sort of comic book super heroes, and everyone is expected to revere and respect them without question. Because of this incompetence, corruption, misconduct, abuse of power, etc. is almost always brushed under the rug.

I firmly believe that crimes like this should be dealt with in the most serious fashion for the good of everyone servicemen and civilians domestic and foriegn alike.

They will for PR reasons since it has already come to light, otherwise they would've tried to cover it up long before pursuing justice.

Im not supposed to be happy, but I am. Why?? Because for many many years we were shouting out loud about American soldiers crimes in every country they enter, but no one believed us everyone was like:" No, our soldiers respect the ethics of their job, they dont kill civilians they just pursue terrorists" and stuffs like this.

Wikileaks has really took away that heavy feeling I had of seeing people being killed while hearing others say that they were not the reason behind it.

Alhamdulillah, and may Allah accept the souls of those two martyrs and help them defend their country Ameen.

Everything is clear now in the world, no one can lie anymore after this lol Im reliefed. ( and hoping theyll not be pirated again Inshallah)

Unfortunately, this isn't true. The media is constantly lying to all of us and manipulating our thoughts and behaviour. Some things change, but we're still all deluded.

Honor, valor & discipline are still there for many. But war has always had thugs who commit atrocities. In the business of killing,
some are drawn to it, some get used to it, & some lose their moral compass in it. Just work to prevent & punish the wrongdoers.

Surely we've all personally witnessed American soldiers murdering civilians by now. Even the widely televised big explosions on day one were killing masses of civilians. The war has been going on for ten years! What kind of rock do you need to be living under not to have been exposed to at least one newscast, youtube video or photo of a US and / or British soldier killing, torturing, sexually abusing, bombing, dumping chemical weapons on, haphazardly incarcerating or otherwise brutalizing civilians in Iraq and Afghanistan? It's a war. In a war, soldiers murder civilians. What the hell did people think was going on over there?

So you are saying every American Soldier commits these acts, strange that its ok for you to tar every American Soldier with the acts of a few but a Muslim who commits murder via a suicide bomb isn't a true representative of Islam.

Are all the dead in Afghanistan due to American Soldiers?

Alhamdulillah, and may Allah accept the souls of those two martyrs and help them defend their country Ameen.

They are not Martyrs, they are just dead

These Soldiers are not representative of the US armed forces, they are guilty of a terrible crime but not all American Soldiers are.

yep 9 months, funny isn't it? above all he is still in the army. no need to say anything. it shows what American army is. i pity those who sincerely try to serve their nation

Right, by watching the media. Is this the same media that we can't trust because it covers up the American soldiers' crimes?

Recall that fatima said: "Wikileaks has really took away that heavy feeling I had of seeing people being killed while hearing others say that they were not the reason behind it."

So my question is, did fatima herself see people getting killed, while others denied it? Or, did fatima see Al Jazeera Arabic claim people were getting killed, while the BBC denied it? I think this is a legitimate question and I'm curious to know the answer.
