My standard tip is $5, although it may be increased in inclement weather.

What do you tip? If you do not tip (on principle), I'd be interested in hearing your experience working for tips.

Thanks.

I've never actually been to a place with valet parking. Not sure if that exists in Maine...

But I have been tipping at least half the bill when I go out to eat. Mostly because I can afford it now (we don't eat out much) and I've cooked in restaurants and know what waitstaff have to go through.

I don't own a car. However, when I get my groceries delivered to me every month I tip $10 to the driver. Small price to pay when the groceries themselves are over $200. I also tip generously when I get fast food delivered here too. At least $3 directly to the driver.

My multi year no car experiment is still going on. No car, no tip. Sorry valets. Yesterday I walked seven or eight miles. Not bad for an old fart.

But the last time I used valet parking it was a few bucks. Adjusting for inflation it would have been at least five bucks.

Oh wow! Another noncar owner! I live a half mile from my grocery store. The delivery person is me. I had four people in my house for a while and would make daily trips. Sometimes multiple trips were needed.
