Isn't it interesting how you can take a man out of a religion, but not take the religion out of the man? Although I've rejected Christianity, I retain enough respect for my ancestors to give a cheer for the leader of their church when he does a good thing, as on this occasion. On the other hand, it would seem that Wirey is descended from a long line of proddy bigots.
And that's one of their better qualities.

At least the present pope has learnt from past mistakes and has made massive inroads to correct those errors.
Recognising palastine is the choice many western countries are working toward, and not before time.

Pedophiles are reported and prosecuted like everyone else.
They do not marry Gays in RC churches. But that is true of many other churches and faiths. Nor are they required to in law.
A religious marriage differs in kind to a civil marriage.
