1. No guns. Way too unfair.
2. Eat everything you kill. If you can't eat it, give it to people who need it.
3. Hunt with a bow, or another "primitive" weapon.
4. Do not hunt more often then nescessary.
5. If fishing, use a spear (perhaps double-pronged), but not a fishing line.
6. Do not "trophy hunt".
1-it's not as if guns were given to us by an observer to make the fight unfair, we're at this spot in the food chain for our resourcefullness amongst other things, why not use it now?
2-it is possible for food to spoil, but this question is related to #4
3-why must it be primitive?see #1
4-agreed,but then again you don't know how often you're going to get hungry(or how much you may eat)
5-have you seen a fish squirm after being shot with a spear?i have.
6-agreed

If you eat plants your argument is useless.
that's wrong because:
1-i was not arguing for plant superiority over animals
2-one is good enough

It's useless to me because I do not argue with people over a point that they don't believe in anyway. You eat plants, I eat plants, you are trying to tell me it is wrong. Your argument is null, as you don't believe it anyway. This means you are wasting your time and mine.:tsk:

1. No guns. Way too unfair.
-depends on what you are hunting and frankly by law (at least here) all archers are required to carry a gun incase they miss and only wound the deer. No one wants to leave a wounded animal suffering in the woods.
2. Eat everything you kill. If you can't eat it, give it to people who need it.
-agreed. I would further go and say you should use whatever you can off the animal in question. Skin for leather et cet.
3. Hunt with a bow, or another "primitive" weapon.
-again, the gun is nessisary to prevent suffering in case of non-leathal shots. Ending the suffering quickly is the goal of any good and responcable hunter.
4. Do not hunt more often then nescessary.
-also agreed, this is the only responcible way to handle it. No real hunter wants thier prey to go extinct. Infact responcible hunting has kept animals such as the white tailed deer and the wild turkey to come back from low numbers and in the case of the turkey near extinction.
5. If fishing, use a spear (perhaps double-pronged), but not a fishing line.
- what about other primitive methods? Nets and eaven fishing line is just as primitive as a spear. 6. Do not "trophy hunt".
-agreed

again the suffering of animals that are bred for food can be limited by not buying factory farmed meat. If you are willing to pay a little more you can find places that raise free range, antibiotic free animals. Healthy and happy animals produce better food. Just like happy and healthy plants taste better. Like most issues there are more than just the two (meat vs. no meat) options.

On the flip side I don't like how some vegitarians assume that because I eat meat I have no respect for life or animals. This is absurd. If anything I have more respect for the animals in question because I realize that my life depends on them, thier happyness and thier health than the vegitarian does. As an ironic side story a Vegitarian I talked with loved deer and wild rabbits... untill they started eating his garden and competeing with him directly for food. Then he wanted the animals gone because wildlife didn't belong in his backyard.

Painted Wolf, I have to tell you that I respect your opinion. It is my belief that we should not eat animals, but I have seen your posts and I completely appreciate the way you see the world.

i'm only telling you how i see it as wrong by the same reasoning used for not eating animals.this isn't to say i don't respect your practices or want you to eat an animal.

although laced thoroughly with sarcasm and witty banter, this article addresses the issue in a light you probably haven't considered.
Sarcasm and witty banter... that's putting lightly...

"What's more humane? Being slaughtered for meat or having to spend 8 hours a day, 40 hours per week in a cubicle for the rest of your life with ******** who listen to sh***y music without headphones, then retiring and withering away with old age and cancer as your obnoxious kids grow up and treat you like sh**? Slaughter please. "

I nearly choked from laughter after reading some of this.
