Video Game Music (Originals or Remixes). Your favorites?

Yeah that's the one, Sando something :)

There are many remixes for it, but my favorite is this one:

Sandopolis Remix ~ Sonic and Knuckles Music - YouTube
As it kept the soul of the original. Well it has an extended intro.

I loved the emerald collecting level's music in Sonic 3 (& Knuckles) and found a remix I liked:

McVaffe - Sonic the Hedgehog 3 - Bonus retreat OC ReMix - YouTube

I loved the music from the S3&K "Sandopolis" level. I also loved the carnival level, hated the music though.

Yeah, I hated that music too, same for the one in Sonic 2. The best example for a carnival/circus/amusement part music is this one:

PainKiller (Battle Out Of Hell) - Loony Park Ambient Music - YouTube
And that level was fun too. When it comes to those, I always like it creepy/hellish. Clowns and similar characters/mascots always gave me the creeps for some reason.

Ah, from the official Sonic and Knuckles remix album. ^_^ I remember listening to that album since I was an adolescent. Not easy to find back then, remember.

Oh, and a way to remember how to say it, the English-language suffix "-opolis" (pronounced "AWE-poh-lis") basically means "city." So, "Sandopolis" literally translates to "Sand-City".

Wow. I like that. I'd have never expected steel drums working for that melody, but this remixer really knows how to do it.

Supposedly, Carnival Night's music is the other MJ track left in Sonic 3. I don't particularly like it, either, though. Don't much like the level, either. It has a moment where I got completely stuck as a child, and it wasn't until a friend showed me how to get past that I finally managed to see through to the end and experience the GLORY that is Ice Cap's music.

And here's Smooth McGroove's fantastic a-capella remix of that one.

You guys remember the original Lion King movie? The drama in every corner, including the music?

Here is one of the Sega Genesis's tones. It has flute and I love flutes:

Lion King Genesis Music - Simba's Destiny - YouTube

No? Um, okay, here is something more modern, tho still a classic. It is the ending theme of Castlevania Symphony of the Night. It gives me the feeling of a romantic dinner with a lover (don't have any btw :p ) :

Castlevania Symphony Of The Night: Track N° 34:I Am The Wind - YouTube

OF COURSE I REMEMBER THAT ONE!!! Lion King is not only IMO the greatest animated film of all time(and the stage musical rendition is yet superior), I played its Genesis game all the time as a kid. ^_^ (Virgin Interactive was one of the other companies that really knew how to make the sound chip on the Genesis really work.)

Nice. Though I prefer Bloody Tears, myself, particularly the piano rendition:

You can say that again :D

Here's another one for the sake of nostalgia :) :

I forgot to say that I'm a instrumental kinda guy. I posted that vocal music because it is unique :)

Dunno why for some reason I see Castlvania's music on SNES lacks the creepiness and gothicness (if I get the word right) that go wee with the natural of the franchise. Or maybe because I got my impression of the game from the Genesis and PS1 versions?

A good example:

Castlevania Bloodlines - Stage 1 [Genesis] Music - YouTube

Speak of creepy/monstrous atmosphere :)

I like the combat theme in the Agrabah section of 'Kingdom Hearts.'

Hey, I love middle eastern oriental music. Maybe because I'm an Arab? :D

One game that really excelled in it, mixing it with western founded instruments is Prince of Persia Sands of Time. This is my favorite fighting music from the game:

Prince of Persia: TSOT Music- Prelude Fight - YouTube

Then this one:

Prince of Persia: Sands of Time OST - #15 Enter the Royal Palace - YouTube

Heck, the whole album was crazy :)

Not gonna lie, Doom's soundtrack is the last I'd expect you to choose. ^_^

One of my absolute favorite remixes of all time is that of Doom's text crawl music: Darkness Dawning from OCRemix's Dark Side of Phobos album:

Yeah, Doom's music rocks. And I do mean Doom 1 and 2, not 3. Both in music and game play, in my humble opinion.

Did you know that the worst port of Doom had the best arranged music of them all? IT was the 3DO port. Just check this sample out just for the sake of comparison:

DOOM 3DO Soundtrack: E1M1: At Doom's Gate - YouTube

and my favorite is this one, which was so very noisy in the original game:

3DO Doom - Sign of Evil - YouTube

As for remixes, I posted one earlier in post #9 so I'm gonna post another one:
Get-Tune.Net - mp3 (sorry, couldn't find a Youtube link

Some communities and fans made some remake specifically for the enhanced ports for PC Doom. Unfortunately they are not well titled to search for them on Youtube.

I remixed the Mario Kart 64 soundtrack, and am doing so with Pokemon Snap as well.

By the way guys, when you quote someone who posts a youtube video, you should delete the link out of their quote so that the same videos don't get posted 12 times.

Dude... I love all of the music from the entire Doom series! Not really too crazy about the games themselves though.
