Why do some people want to use so much time in VR ? is it not enough to understand the physical world ?
Is VR a form of trying to escape truth?

Why do people read books or watch TV? Why do people play board games? Why do people tell jokes? Why do people post on internet forums? Can’t we just do things because they’re fun sometimes, no deep meaning or ulterior motives? Why do some people want to use so much time in VR ? is it not enough to understand the physical world ?
No.Is VR a form of trying to escape truth?
Yes one can do fun things from time to time. Why do people read books or watch TV? Why do people play board games? Why do people tell jokes? Why do people post on internet forums? Can’t we just do things because they’re fun sometimes, no deep meaning or ulterior motives?
No.
People post gems from time to time, but don't expect too much. I like you being here though. Stick around; you never know what you'll pick up along the way .Yes one can do fun things from time to time.
But doing things without a deeper meaning? Why would someone do that?
I do use a laptop and i do own a cellphone, but i do not watch TV anymore.
The forums was a place to learn but maybe i was wrong
Something doesn’t need to have “deeper meaning” to be of value or benefit. Simple entertainment and amusement is good for us. VR is just one of the countless tools which can be used to achieve that and I don’t see the legitimacy in picking it out for challenge.Yes one can do fun things from time to time.
But doing things without a deeper meaning? Why would someone do that?
It can be a place to learn and a place for entertainment. If you’re lucky you might get both at the same time. They’re certainly not mutually exclusive. The forums was a place to learn but maybe i was wrong
I have been going back and forth on leaving or staying in forums but i will stay for nowPeople post gems from time to time, but don't expect too much. I like you being here though. Stick around; you never know what you'll pick up along the way .
Well i can only speak for my self, but yes i am sure this is not a simulation in a gaming computer, but what i am sure of is that the physical realm is not the ultimate truth eitherEscape truth?
Are we sure this "real life" we're living isn't, itself, a high-tech virtual reality game?

Virtual realityI actually did not know what VR was when you posted this, but nonetheless I am personally indifferent to it.

Yes it is a form of VR, i might have forgotten to say i was more thinking of VR glasses then internet like forumsNo offense, but you do know you are asking this question in a VR setting...right?
Are you kidding me? ;OpWhy do some people want to use so much time in VR ? is it not enough to understand the physical world ?

Ummm.... i am not a gaming personAre you kidding me? ;Op
I get to do stuff in VR I could never do in real life.
Ace Combat 7, I can be a pilot of a fighter jet. Careening off the aircraft carriers was worth that alone.
You should see the peeps in Tethered. The little buggers!
Out of Ammo is loads of fun in a rts overhead tower defense game were you can also be a soldier on the ground fighting off waves of baddies.
Drive Club and VR racing.
Can't wait for No Mans sky VR
Call of Duty infinite Warfare VR where you're a pilot in a space fighter and speaking of which, who doesn't want to be actually in an a star wars X-Wing Fighter in Battlefront VR ! Try that in real life! *Grin*
Enter if you dare in Resident Evil 7. A monitor is bad enough.... But when you go for 3D stereoscopic , you're not just playing the game , you're actually in the game. Yikes!!!
Maybe that's why you wonder about VR.Ummm.... i am not a gaming person
I have no need for gaming or VR The fun i have is within meditationMaybe that's why you wonder about VR.
If you ever come across the opportunity, don't hesitate to pop on a pair of VR goggles or headset. It's like all the fun I had with my old View-Master except you don't just get to see a stereoscopic world, you get to actually go inside a stereoscopic world and walk around and interact. It would answer your question nicely as well as the loads of fun it brings. :O)
It would be a little difficult to answer your question if you never had the experience yourself with VR.I have no need for gaming or VR The fun i have is within meditation
Hah! When you realize that what people normally call reality, is in fact a construction of the mind, a "virtual reality", an illusion, this question takes on deeper significance. Why do some people want to use so much time in VR ? is it not enough to understand the physical world ?
