Hehe. He's adorable and at the same time, he's a boss smirkin' and chillin' like a villain.
Sahib, woh toh don hai don - sabkā don - badiyā ādmi - chahe koi usko jangli kahe, magar woh hai javān - like a boss like these two fun people:

High Priest of Nothing
I forgive you for feeling ashamed of being Hindu. I too feel it time to time, this is a trait peculiar and particular to Hindus. After all, the term itself is alien to them, imposed on them from outside.

But I'm not. It's not because I dislike Hinduism or anything, I was just not raised Hindu, I never became one, there is nothing to feel ashamed about.
Unless you believe in the legend that Europeans were Kshatriya who fled from Parashurama's Axe, I don't see how I am a Hindu.

But then, my "Gurudev" resolves all these for me. My "Gurudev" is some villager, illiterate, ignored, right there in some remote place of India where even electricity has not set its feet. Yet I place his opinions on a pedestal higher than even Veda, and certainly higher than the 5-star philosophies about Hindu Dharma.

Please don't interpret this as dissing your guru, but even spiritual teachers can err.

Believe me, you are in the illustrious company of many Hindu luminaries who have written about even other Vedic Gods, such as Indra Mitra Rudra etc, being real people. This stand is better than being an atheist, isn't it?

Have to agree with you there, though I believe the devas are more worthy of respect since they had been humans who attained their position by merit. Isn't there a story called "Indra and the Ants" that discusses this?

No I am not hurt, but am mighty amused seeing every so called "Hindu", "Hindu Apologist", "Hindu Explorer", "Hindu Iconoclast", "Ashamed Hindu" and even the "Anti Hindu" living in his own well of ignorance and feeling all the superiority in the world because that one tiny drop (of second hand wisdom) has filled him upto the brim.
EDIT: I forgot to mention "Secular Hindu" in that list. I apologise for this grave mistake.

Are you referring to me in the list? I owe some of my beliefs to Hinduism, and I revere Rudra and Hindu sages, but I'm not sure that makes me a Hindu.

I appreciate your intervention. But something deep and dark is underway here; this may not be the thread for it though, that's the problem. Thank you for your concern, especially since you know my stand regarding caste and Varna but I-I here doesn't know me.

namaste I-I,

I will still call you a Hindu (I drop the "Hindu Iconoclast" for you), even if that is to you an abuse worse than any other perhaps, but nevertheless the truth, whether you like it or not.

This may be the wrong thread, but seeing that the original post has been already discussed with sufficiently: from Vaisnavas, to Shaivas, to Vedantins, to Vedicists everyone has contributed: let us have a little chat. (best thing: make a thread of your own)

I said I liked your thoughts. Did you read the link that I gave you? What do you make of that?

Another thing is, sad to mention, your patterns are no different than the ones you love to hate. Why is it that everything you wrote is full of so much ignorance? I don't care if you are a casteist Hindu or anti-casteist Hindu: you are still the same.

Take an example: you talk of Dr. Ambedkar, but why can't you accept his judgement about Aryan Invasion being False? Don't mention his name, do him a favour.

namaste SW
I will break this to you: you don't seem to have any idea about what is going on in this thread. So I will categorise you into "Hindu Explorer". This still entitles you to be a worthy participant here.

You are getting it wrong, buddy. For instance, by "Gurudev" in "Village" I meant that I consider an average, illiterate Hindu to be my Gurudev, and sorry, he cannot be wrong.

regards
KT

I loathe to be identified as a Hindu for these reasons. Please do not ever call me a Hindu as you have misquoted me in your post.

As someone else has suggested, please start a new thread in the general debates section. If you're not a Hindu, and you're not just humbling seeking information on Hinduism, I can't see a reason for your posting here.
