Vladimir Putin's soldiers 'pumped full of drugs' so they can fight for hours in Ukraine

Twilight Hue

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.
There's got to be something in the rules of war against this sort of thing. Feeding dangerous drugs to troops has to be considered a war crime.
I'm not sure if it is, but yea. drugging certainly comes across as a crime against humanity.

But I suppose if one has to face the raw reality of war, it's probably appealing to go into it numb.

Those who are not under the influence of drugs and alcohol, usually do work well.

It seems the point flew so far over your head, you aren't even aware a point was made.

That point being: criminalizing recreational drugs and alcohol never ends well. It always triggers a rise in crime, more powerful criminals, drop in quality of the products,... and users are also pushed into an underground world where they come into contact with other products, criminals and crimes with which they otherwise would have nothing to do. And it doesn't really work as a deterrent for users either.

If history has shown us anything, it is that criminalizing such things only leads to more societal problems as opposed to when it is condoned or legalized and regulated / controlled.

I see rules will be eventually set. No nation will be able to rise against another Nation.

That would be a great rule.

Regards Tony

Again...setting rules is the easy part.
They do not insure adherance, and at no time in human history has such a rule been worth more than lip service. So sure...if some all powerful force that has never enforced such a rule is about to come and enforce such a rule...then things will be different.

Some nations will have to grow up from the behaviour of a kindergartener, though. We all have rules within our countries and we have forces to enforce these rules. There is no such thing among nations. Nations are sovereign and some think they aren't or shouldn't be bound by treaties.

Time to humanity step up, not to look for excuses and accept they need to be held responsible for idiotic choices.

I do not see that is the easy part, or the Nations would have already got together, set National boundaries and banned war.

When they do start this process, and they will, the enforcement of the laws will also be made available.

I am aware of what has been offered in this regard, but will leave all that alone.

Yes a maturity of purpose is needed, humanity needs to emerge from its adolescence behaviours.

The Mirror has mixed reliability from what I understand but I give some credence to this story. There have been other reports about drugs and Russian soldiers.

Vladimir Putin's soldiers 'pumped full of drugs' so they can fight for hours in Ukraine

Recalling the horrific scenes, Andriy said: "They're climbing above the corpse of their friends, stepping on them.

"It looks like it's very, very likely that they are getting some drugs before attack."

The soldier remembered one particularly horrendous battle in which he and 19 comrades fought as 200 Russians stormed their positions for 10 grinding hours.

Their guns became so hot they had to keep changing them.

"It looks like it's very, very likely"

That's some journalism there.
