I can't picture a Democrat elector voting Republican. 50 years of life so far and I still don't understand how the electoral college is fair and impartial.
If what your suggesting were true, states would never swing, but they do, based on majority vote.

So if Trump becomes President will the system still be unacceptably corrupt then or will it be okay because you got your way?
To this day, I still think Al Gore should have been president and Im Republican. Democrats raised a fuss about it at the time. Remember the hanging chad fiasco?

I think there's common ground on this issue should a repeat occur.

The Republicans (Trump supporters) who are complaining about this now are fully aware that G.W. Bush lost the popular vote yet still became President, right?

Is the system still "rigged" if it works in your favor?
Imo. Yes.

I was happy of course but at the same time started questioning the integerity of our voting system.

Um, no.

There's a very good reason for why that is... And it's part why our system is superior to other Democracies in the world that rely on popular votes to elect people to positions of power. It's also something our founding fathers came up with - not some conspiracy against the losers...

Although true no elected official may cast the vote itself, indirectly however, they do.

Are you guys saying that you vote - buit it might not actually matter anyway..?...
In 2000, Gore won the popular vote, but lost the electoral vote. I think that was the second time that's ever happened. I would love for a simpler, more direct process.

Hi Folks...

This got pretty confusding..lol...

Are you guys saying that you vote - buit it might not actually matter anyway..?...

How can a vote be "so close" that it needs someone else to decide its outcome..?...Seems ridiculous - you all vote - you count whos for Who - majority wins - obvious...How can there ever be a "vote that is too close" unless they are actually numerically equal then there is ALWAYS a clear winner - isnt there..??... Are you sayingthen that no matter what - this "electoral college" gets the last say..??...

Wow - If im seeing this right then you guys are being played for mugs arent you..??...They PRETEND to give you power to choose - but really - seems you dont ACTUALLY have that power at all then..??...
Try explaining the Parliamentary system to Americans and they will be just as confused as you are. Tell them that only those who happen to live in a certain political riding will get to cast their vote for the Prime Minister and see how they react to that.
