Voter Fraud Commission

Trump and staff had their first voter commission meeting. Is this any different than Obama investiiging voter integrity. It seems like Trumps motives are a bit different, he isn't looking for mm to improve voteing but is trying to find fraud. I am all for voter integrity but feel like Republicans have there own interests in mind when it comes to vote rigging and gerrymandering.

The GOP has long held this idee fixe about massive numbers of people voting illegally and often and, even worse, for the opposing party. Several expensive investigations have failed to demonstrate this, but how else could Democratic party successes be explained?

What clear thinking voter would oppose the GOP's Neoliberal and deregulatory policies? Who but closet pinkos would oppose privatization?

There's got to be a conspiracy somewhere, and the Republicans are determined to find one, no matter how many investigations it takes or what the cost.

In actual fact, there has been massive meddling with the voting system, and well documented meddling, at that.
But...
The shenanigans have almost all been initiated by the Republicans, and have successfully put up numerous voting impediments targeting largely Democratic communities.

This gets relatively little air time, though, as most media outlets are owned by the conglomerates who's interests are best served by Republican policies. They're not going to bite the hand that feeds them.

I think Trump is reaching long and hard for something that isn't there, desperately trying to figure out a way to convince people that he should have won the popular vote. The sad part is that the popular vote doesn't even matter at all.

It's pretty apparent because he pointed to things like voters being registered in multiple states and dead people still being registered as evidence. But, obviously, that in no way evidences voter fraud. States are responsible to clean up their own voter rolls. They aren't very good at this, as they don't have the resources to do it well, so dead people remain on rolls and when people move they end up being registered in two states.

The ONLY way that this would even point toward voter fraud would be if there is a record of dead people actually VOTING or people voting more than once. Currently, there is absolutely no evidence of widespread voter fraud.

I heard of an instance where someone in California voted for medicinal marijuana several times and got in trouble. The president election wasn't even on some of these people's radar.

In all fairness though, the people involved probably had just forgotten they had already voted due to intoxication.

Obviously one cannot detect voter fraud by comparing voter rolls. I don't see the commission persuading Congress or states to enact any new voting requirements--at least nothing that will be held Constitutional.

Who's radar do you mean? There are official groups whose only responsibility is to test and ensure voter integrity. After every single election they do everything they can to ensure that voter fraud did not play a role in the outcome of the election.

Obviously, there will always be cases of voter fraud. When there are over a hundred million votes cast in an election, voter fraud will exist (in small, insignificant amounts at least). The question is whether voter fraud is widespread and whether widespread voter fraud determines the outcome of the election.

The authorities who investigate voter integrity after each election have not found any reason to think that any widespread voter fraud took place in the 2016 election.

Sure it is possible. It's called a National ID card and that is Constitutional.
Yes one can suspect voter fraud by comparing voter rolls by a simple computer program that sorts. Geesh

How so? What fraud does one detect "by comparing voter rolls by a simple computer program that sorts"?

Your average 3 year old is more mature and honest than the Republican party as a collective.
Grand idea for solving all of our problems and pay off the national debt to boot.

Make it a reality tv show. It will make billions.

Don't forget the Democrats too.

I am sure they just forgot what county they live in ;).

So why didn't they catch the illegals? Dare I say conspiracy!

Did I say detects? No, I said that a computer program can be used to suspect voter fraud. Having problems reading?

Actually I didn't notice that you were just trying to knock down a straw man.

One doesn't need a computer to "suspect" voter fraud. People have all kinds of delusional suspicions--especially people appointed to something by Trump.

The voting is up to the states, so any investigating should be done by the states. I do not like this search for information about all of Trump's political opponents. Its a closed vote, meaning their names, the names of their children, where they work and all of that is their own business; and their lives should not come under threat just because of who they vote for.

You really have an attitude don't you. You refuse to even exam the possibilities, your attitude is probably based on your opinion of me. So be it. If you don't want to listen don't respond. However, if you took voter registration from all States, which includes last 4 digits of SSN, are imputed to a computer program that compares all records any duplicate record is a possible issue. This is not a delusional suspicion it is a fact.

If you don't like my posts, which is apparently your complaint, you are welcomed to put me on "Ignore". I think lots of people have me on "Ignore" because I point out their errors. Then after they put me on "ignore," I continue pointing out their errors, and they look foolish and incompetent.

Obviously having duplicates of the last 4 digits of SSNs on states' voter registration rolls does not indicate voter fraud. Get real.
