Voting Frubals!!!

In theory you are correct, but in the last 10 years of being married, NOTHING AT ALL has changed with me or my family on a day to day basis, and leaders have come and gone. So on theory you are correct, in reality not so much. Nice strawman though!
Every tax, every law that has been passed, every local ordinance....
These have affected you and your family for the last ten years.

(And if you going to accuse me of using Strawmen, at least find out the actual definition of one, I did not misrepresent your position.)

There are ways to make changes in addition to voting.
I never said otherwise

I am sure on some level it does, but not enough for me to notice. Certainly not enough for me to buy into the BS of thinking voting is going to get us to the promise land...

But many made decisions today that will affect you and your family.
You simply refrained from contributing to these decisions.
I do know the definition. Just because I didn't vote does not mean I didn't do anything to effect election. I am engaged with many people on their beliefs and how they vote.
You represented me, without knowing what I do in regard to elections or voters.

Who claimed it would?
All I said is that you are letting others make life decisions for you without even a hint of letting your own opinion be heard.
Many of my votes made no difference in the outcome. But many have.

I have been accused of being 'unpatriotic' for some of my opinions. But I have done the most patriotic of all actions and let my voice be heard.

Stop assuming my voice isn't heard. I influence a good many people, and at the least if I don't influence some I encourage them to think.
I feel like saying to you don't push your delusion on me.
Tha doesn't quite capture my real sentiment but it sort of feels correct...

I voted. This is the first election in a long time that has had me excited. Unfortunately, the candidate that most impressed me is in a different district.

I apologize Mike.
I will cease to push the illusion of representation, democracy, and civic responsibility on you.
Carry on....

Now I will say this TW, show me a place of real democracy and I might participate.
I might be accused of not helping to get to a real democracy, and to that I would agree. I might could do more to make a change by getting involved with politics.

However, I am happy you admit the current status quo is an illusion.
