Religions are just a collection of psychological tools that people can use to help them live their lives according to the theological ideals they have chosen as their own. What we do with these tools is up to each of us. And in my experience, I have seen people use them for all kinds of reasons and in all kinds of ways. Some for good, and some not.

It's a fool that blames good or bad carpentry on the tools.
