You apparently missed when I said there are other people, asides from her, who are also working to build this database. However, that doesn't inherently make her wrong, nor does it mean she isn't giving sound advice, because when you actually take time to read what she wrote she gives very accurate and sound advice.
Yes, her and her associates' opinions are neither wrong nor right for everyone.

It's not about being "wrong nor right for everyone." It's about objectively evaluating data. It doesn't matter if it's "right or wrong," she is singling out sources that are satirical, heavily biased, imitations of real sources, and/or downright fake. And those librarians are likely not her close associates, but most likely probably people who have little contact with her who just happened to volunteer for the project since it overlaps into what their job description is, and it's a tool for their own job as they teach students to evaluate and access information.

Her criterion may or may not be the same criterion used by others to judge a source.

From what she has provided, I doubt you'll find many who seriously criticize it, not unless they want to defend the Conservative/Liberal biased sites and attack her for being unfairly biased herself.

Really quite incredible isn't it, that the ones that gave us rigged polls, blame it on the Russians, Hillary 98% chance of winning are conveniently absent from that list.

Any assurance of journalist integrity should be taken with a grain of salt when the compiler happens to be a radical left-wing activist and notable that liberal media are infamous for propagating narratives rather than telling the truth. The reality is, there is a surge of interest in right-wing opinions, and dictating what is "fake news" is a desperate attempt to patch up an already flimsy position built on lies.

It's impossible. Which is why I say it cannot be authoritative unless one believes it to be so.

One of the key aspects of 'fake news' is the denial that there can be authorities. By saying all opinions are equally valid, anything said can be 'news'.

And Fox News hasn't been propagating a narrative rather than telling the truth? I call BS.

I found that a good effort to become informed not only current news, but the history behind the current news. Most people respond to shock effect news reporting, and this is hint to question the news source. Simply using multiple reliable news and editorial sources is important. I have the advantage of a good background in college in history, and a journalism course.

Slanted and fake news has always been around, and selective reporting of events is a notorious way to slant the news.

If someone doesn't have the tools to fairly easily identify fake (or especially satirical) news sites on their own, then I don't know how much difference it makes what they read or hear, in regards to being more informed in a meaningful way.
but just try to sort that out here at the forum

All mainstream media outlets are corporate owned and exist to serve their corporate masters and the Washington Establishment.

The nature of narrative crafting is perfectly insidious these days.

This thread is like a blast from the past. Some of the posters in this thread haven't been around in a long time.
