War Crimes ... but no action to be taken.

Indeed, sir. Pretty much like Islamic terrorism only skyrocketed, and more and more Muslims became terrorists after American aggression and oppression on the Muslim world. There, most likely, is a connection.

What gets me is the American leadership does not appear to have considered even for a moment responding to Bin Laden as a police matter. Bush and Cheney pushed for war as if war was the only option. Worse, the cadre of "Very Important Foreign Policy Experts" in Washington were in line with Bush and Cheney from the start line.

"The ICC report refers to evidence of a pattern of war crimes carried out across a number of years by soldiers from several British regiments. Some detainees were raped or subjected to sexual violence. Others were beaten so badly they died from their injuries."

- Court finds UK war crimes but will not take action
I always thought the ICC to be a positive organization and its judgements to be fair. But now it seems some people are more equal.
(Or this is a ploy to lure the US back into the Rome statute. )

Is Britain itself going to do anything about it?
Nope. "Vexatious claims."
(The article implies as much).

They didn't want to know over "The Troubles" in Ireland either.
e.g. :
Bloody Sunday (1972) - Wikipedia
1972: Massacre by British soldiers... 26 unarmed civilians shot.
2019: One soldier can be prosecuted, but there will be no more prosecutions.

My reading is that the ICC has demonstrated there has been lethal abuse but since "the ICC could not determine whether the UK had acted to shield soldiers from prosecution" it is unable to go further and the ICC prosecutor says: "The fact the allegations investigated by the UK did not result in prosecutions does not mean that these claims were vexatious."
This won't be the end of the matter; I should think there will be (at least) private prosecutions.
