He (peace and blessings be upon him) wasn't only a great man. He is a mercy to mankind He passes no man except that he would smile. He would not walk past a needy person without offering or lending aid.
Even his enemies would call him the The Trustworthy one.Even though they hated him they would bring their wealth to him because they knew he was the most trustworthy. He was a prophet a father, husband, uncle, nephew
He was a man of love, patience, courage, wisdom, generosity, intelligence who inspired millions of lives throughout the world.

In His last sermon he said: Do treat your women well and be kind to them for they are your partners and committed helpers

He also said: All mankind is from Adam and Eve. An Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab, nor does a non-Arab have any superiority over an Arab; white has no superiority over black, nor does a black have any superiority over white; [none have superiority over another] except by piety and good action.

Since I am not posting the two pages I previously did on the Battle of Badr alone I request you review them and respond if you will (#354 and #355). However first let me simply repost a very small list that illustarates that it was not smiles that many of Muhammad's enemies. Seldom has history produced a more brutal man claiming prophet hood no less. Ignore the context as it was from a previous post.

I give ten detailed instances of inconsistencies with a man of God and Muhammad's actions and only one is partially challenged in response. It is not my claim that prophets are sinless. Biblical prophets are sinful, and so is Muhammad. If they ever killed a single person God did not demand, they did evil. The problem is the Bible does not say men who killed a bunch of other men are sinless, the Quran does. Of course men who are ordered to kill by God are right in doing so let's evaluate some of Muhammad's military actions.

Battle or raidname, The order or Reason, Source
1. Al Cravan raid,To get money, Ibn Ishaq: Sirat Rasul Allah
2. Batn Rabigh caravan raid,To get money, Bukkari: Ibn sa'd
3. Kharar caravan raid,????, Ibn sa'd
4. Invasion of Waddan,Attack a Quraysh caravan which included camels, Hisham: Ishaq
5. Battle of Badr, Raid a Quraysh caravan carrying 50,000 gold Dinars guarded by 40 men, and to further Muslim political andeconomic and military position, Bukhari: Dawud.
6. Invasion of Buwat,Raid a Quraysh caravan which included 200 camels, Sahih Muslim: Hisham and Ishaq
7. Invasion of Dul Asher,Attack a Quraysh caravan, Hisham and Ishaq
8. Invasion of Safwan,To pursue Kurz bin Jabir Al-Fihri who led a small group that looted Muhammad's animals, Hisham and Ishaq
9. Assasination of Asma Bint Marwan,Kill 'Asma' bint Marwan for opposing Muhammad with poetry and for provoking others to attack him, Sa'd: Hisham and Ishaq
10. Assasination of Abu Afak,Kill Abu Afak for opposing Muhammad through poetry, Sa'd: Hisham and Ishaq
11. Assasination of Ka'b Ibn Al-Ashraf,According to Ibn Ishaq Muhammad ordered his followers to kill Ka'b because he "had gone to Mecca after Badr and inveighed against Muhammad. He also composed verses in which he bewailed the victims of Quraysh who had been killed at Badr. Shortly afterwards he returned to Medina and composed amatory verses of an insulting nature about the Muslim women, al-BuKhari and Sahi Muslim
12. Assasination of 'Abdullah Ibn Atik,Kill Abu Rafi' ibn Abi Al-Huqaiq for mocking Muhammad with his poetry and for helping the troops of the Confederates by providing them with money and supplies, al-Bukhari: Tabri

Beautiful post Sister. Don't allow yourself get sucked in, some are determined to make verbal gymnastics to justify everyone but our beloved Muhammad(saws).

The question that most of us ask now, arose before during the time of Muhammad s.a.w; preaching the words of God onto Arabia. Was Muhammad mentioned? This was the question by inhabitants of Arabia towards Jews that embraced Islam. And if we refer to the claim by past Jewish converts, they had quote verses from Isaiah 42.

If we look at the passages in Isaiah. God address His chosen servants with their names, and in the prophesied verse we see God mention clearly the prophet’s name. Some examples of God mentioning His servant by name.

(My Servant Isaiah, My Servant Eliakim, David My Servant, Jacob My Servant, My Servant Israel, and so in Isaiah 42:1 , God specifically mention My Servant Ahmad)

In Isaiah 42:1, it is deemed not a coincidence upon seeing the writing of both אתמך (Atmc) אחמד (Ahmd). And the word before אתמך (Atmc), is עבדי (Abdi~My Servant). For indeed, it is indicating Ahmad; Abdullah (Ahmad; Servant of God).

Not to mention אתמך (Atmc) happen to be a special term foretelling the coming of a righteous man and is used only ONCE throughout the entire Book. [could this be a copying error or an intended error?]

~~
The prophecy tells about Ahmad; ‘Servant of God’ whom will war to correct the wrongs and bringing judgement based on the law of God. He will liberate act of worshiping molten images and thus Arabia (wilderness desert, villages and cities) will glorify God since then. As can be seen today, Arabia are worshiping, praising God and singing words of God daily. Inhabitants from all around the world gather there and voice out aloud their praise to God.

And we continue reading Isaiah 42:18 – 25; God remind the ‘blind and deaf’ about the wrath of God towards Children of Israel, who neglect the message brought by past Servant of God.

And not to repeat; the same mistake upon the coming of the new Servant of God

While I wouldn't go so far as to call Muhammad a terrible man, I don't agree with a lot of his practices, or those of the Muslim religion. I was a practicing Muslim for 2 years before I swore off religion, and all I've really taken away from that experience was affirmation of my decision to become an atheist.

What are gymnastics concerning just the few battles I posted where he fought and killed for money? Don't want to get sucked in by any of that truth stuff, you might get some on you?

Another aspect that gets completely ignored are the circumstances that led to Muhammad and early Muslims being persecuted in the first place.

I have always found these facts very telling. In the first decade of peaceful Islam there were about 200 converts (many were his relatives or friends). However the next decade when loot, power, and violence were the norm greed increased his followers to 100,000. It seems peaceful Islam does not sell. As the great Iron Maiden said "Peace sells, but who's buying?"

I really think that kassault37 was never really a real muslim. To be a muslim is more than just saying o yeah my parents are muslim and my name is adnan so yeah im a muslim, there is more to it. And also i dont think that u were ever a muslim because most converts do not bash on their former religion. Most well known reverts to islam say wonderful things about their former religion and even say that their former religion led them to islam. If i was a catholic or jew or watever and i reverted to islam or some other relgion, i would never hate on my former religion, i would still respect it and those who follow it. To be so disrespectful like that shows who u really are. I only give respect to those of other religions and athiest that show peace and respect to other ideas and religions. I dont believe christ is God, but i would never hate on and laugh at someone that does. So show some respect to my prophets Muhammed and Jesus and i will show some respect to ur prophet Richard Dawkins...

... I don't think anyone except you considers Dawkins a "prophet". And a lot of "converts" bash on their old religion, myself included. Realizing the religion you used to follow is closed-minded and ridiculous doesn't mean you were never a "true" follower of that religion in the first place. The "high and mighty" people such as yourself are a major reason I (and many other people) split from religion.

Personally I don't think so.

One can make the case that for instance Jesus Christ if he was alive today would be a socialist and would have promoted tolerance for all.

With Muhammad there is no such tolerance - just "off with their heads" every time someone steps off the path just a little.

The fact that you're telling people they're not or weren't "real" Muslims as if you have been granted the authority to decide who's a Muslim says otherwise...

6.114. (Say to them, O Messenger:) "What! Shall I seek other than God to judge (to settle the matters between you and me), when it is He Who has sent down to you this (unique, most perfect) Book (in which truth and falsehood, right and wrong are) fully distinguished?" (The scholars among) those to whom We gave the Book before know that it is one being sent down in parts, in truth, by your Lord. So never be among the doubters (concerning the truth of your way).

Pay close attention to " Shall I seek other than God to judge"

Ultimately you have no right to judge another humanbeing..especially on matters which involve knowledge of the unseen (the persons intentions)

The poll should also include a option stating : "He was a good man, and we should respect him even if we disagree with his preaching because I believe in respecting other religions"

Well Muhammad was important enough to have a book written in his name so to me he is good enough. Forget any act of barbarism associated with him and just accept the fact that 1 of my 3 favorite books is the Qur'an :D
