Was there ever even the slightest chance of failure?

The sacrifice was a God allowing Himself to be tormented, tortured, and killed by His own creation in order to save that creation.

As Jesus said, He could tell God to send a thousand angels to come save Him and it would happen but then what would be the point.

Jesus still had to endure what He did and the amount of effort it must have taken to not snap His fingers and end it is amazing.
If that's true...he also knew that it would be over shortly and he'd go right back to being the universal omnimax deity, no worse for wear...and really, what deity can't manage to endure a few hours of discomfort?

Or, he could have just snapped his fingers and fixed everything that was wrong with the universe, as it is said that that is what he's going to do at the end of time...create a perfect new heaven and a perfect new earth, and a perfect new city of Jerusalem made of metal and stone and without a trace of life in it...

That's the story.

But some of us find it to make no sense,
and dont believe a word of it.
