None of what you have described in your previous post is related to empathy.

I may have been a bit off-target, reading your post out of the context of my own. But still, it does show that I am working from the mindset of relating myself with other lifeforms.

Where is the empathy in raising animals to eat them when doing so is unnecessary for our survival? And even if it were necessary, where is the empathy in killing something else for our own selfish benefit?

I agree, as I am not a fan of killing because of my empathetic relationship with other living things. Hence my vegetarianism (except where the meat may be thrown away). I am mindful of humans as being animals adapted to being omnivores and having a taste for meat.
