I don’t care if you don’t believe me
It looks like I offended you. Sorry about that.

Maybe you misunderstood me. I didn't say that I don't believe you. I said the story has problems and I pointed them out to you. I was expecting you to want to flesh the story out a little so that it made more sense, but you had a different reaction.

Whatever is actually going on there, good luck to you.

I've actually been baffled that some are allowed to keep their jobs at the place my husband works...

I was glad they at least canned the guy who inappropriately placed cameras in certain areas of the restaurant...
Cameras in the toilet bowl are never acceptable.
Except in Japan.

A psychiatric medical emergency? Csre to expand?
I WILL NOT!!!! I already did on this thread!

Are you joking?

Me saying “psychiatric medical emergency” should have resulted in the boss saying “ok, take your time off” instead she scoffed and demanded to know what it was, which is a violation of HIPPA! I should have brought that up but I had to go my life was in danger as she was laughing at me when I explained further why I had to leave.

@an anarchist. Ouch. People are awful when it comes to mental health. My boss when I told her I was suicidal let me get time off to get my meds adjusted. Thats a good boss. I can totally see however a poor boss with issues regarding mental health stigma say that hey I want to know because mental health is not that serious...like you say you suicidal some folk think that oh that don't need treatment you just selfish and will live. Or you just want attention you aren't really suicidal(I've heard that from adults when I was a kid) And if you had lied said it was something like hallucinations they would probably had fired you because you unpredictable.

When I was a teen my foster parent was like you can't be that depressed you young. Till I took my shirt off and revealed cuts all over my back sides and stomach causing her to gasp and told her please get me a therapist appointment set up.

I agree if you said it's a psychiatric emergency they should have left it at that. But folks sadly don't take mental health seriously

Next time if there is one if you really want the person to back off and are willing to put it all out there and be a bit unconventional, give too much info. That sometimes makes folk back off and eat their words. Etc: if someone says hey why you want time off and making it sound like that'll never happen give all the details. Tell them you suicidal if they laugh say ok write you refused me time off in writing I'll take a photo of the paper send it to higher ups and if you don't let me get that time off I'm going to kill myself here at the restaurant and my family will sue because it'll be your fault I died. You'll be scraping my blood off the walls.

Might get fired but at least you'll live because no one wants to be sued and no one wants to clean up dead bodies.

You dont need to be polite when your health and life is on the line

This also can go well with any personal questions. I have had people ask a lot of personal questions before and I get them to back off real quick. Like once a person asked me if I was having sex with my boyfriend and if so how does a trans person have sex medically speaking?

Guy really regretted asking that I got real detailed about my sexuality

People asking personal questions that aren't their business don't want the answers to it they just want to insert their worldview. If you show how personal said question is they usually back off.

I had a cat die, and I called into work. I was honest about it. My boss said "I can't let you off for the death of a pet, I'm sorry... ...but, if you were sick or something..."

I said "I'm sick. Real sick. I might throw up."

"Hope you get better soon! We'll see you when you're feeling well again."

She was a good boss.

Twilight Hue

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.
That’s ok I am not trying to convince anyone, but yes, I had a life threatening medical emergency and she laughed in my face and denied me medical leave that I had saved up. Completely ridiculous to the point it sounds unbelievable, I know, but it’s true.
There are legal recourses for those who deny leave for medical emergencies.

I'd probably initiate a lawsuit, collect the damages , and then go elsewhere.

Kathryn

It was on fire when I laid down on it.
I am thinking about how my former boss would reaxt to this and he'd probably tell me to take whatever time I needed to get straight,
