If I recall correctly, the ordnung allows use of modern technology, but warns against owning it yourself.
Amish can take taxis, or use computers in non-Amish workplaces, they just shouldn't own a car, or a computer...
And many will own a phone, for emergencies, our already have access to one, I should say.
But whatever, as long as they keep making their awesome chocolate, I couldn't care less!
Strongly recommend it, if you've never been to am Amish town.

They had a schism not too long ago. Many around here have started using motor vehicles (one business owner has a RV), LED light bulbs, gas to heat and cook with, telephones, power tools and even some electricity which includes computers.....which will not be frequented by Amish people given that they are not allowed to use computers.
