Weddings and symbols?Marriage?

This will be 2 part debate. First one <Marriage which is required from a lot of religions to be in a relationship.

I don't think its neccesary and con men only get together with those want to marry because its only when your married you can get access to someone else account.

You can also get life insurance many have been murdered that way.

I also do not believe the bible teaches it, they had a ritaul where you are sealed by God, but they did not have to get blood work done and papers drawn up.

It was the equivalent of a shaking up ceremony. I don't see why we need to be married. Id rather shack up any day.

What scripture from your religion says you have to be married.

number 2. I hate symbols used at wedding. Woman wears a huge trapeez of a white dress in which i would trip all over with my short legs.

I might wear a party dress short one but no big wedding gown for me nope. Its absurd FOR ME. But the owman wears white man wears black, the man has been expected to lose his virginity while the woman has to be holy pure white.

I'm not wearing white nor am I have nasty stinky white wedding cake I gag on either. My cake will be a cheese cake or pound cake mostly with chocolate sauce on the side.......

only rockinroll for my wedding song. I like Crazy For You by Madonna or Fools Rush In by Elvis or Eternal Flame by the Bangles.

I hate trying to parse your rambling posts. Let's try to dissect it anyways...

Well that's dumb. You think financial reasons are the only reason to get married?? What about the countless cultures where finances are not merged with a marriage, and what about prenuptial marriages??

I don't see how someone can think it isn't necessary in some way. Pretty much every single human culture independently came up with the idea of marriage. If it doesn't serve some important biological function, how do you explain its cross-cultural presence??

I also do not believe the bible teaches it, they had a ritaul where you are sealed by God, but they did not have to get blood work done and papers drawn up.

Whether the Bible teaches it or not is irrelevant. Basically every culture agrees and teaches it, regardless of what the Bible may or may not say.

Why is this the case that every culture has come up with the idea of marriage?? Probably at least in part because pair bonding is a great way to protect against the spread of disease, especially before the invention of rubber condoms, as there are STDs out there that will literally cause your genitals to rot off.

It was the equivalent of a shaking up ceremony. I don't see why we need to be married. Id rather shack up any day.

Ew!!

Do you know what question marks are used for??

number 2. I hate symbols used at wedding. Woman wears a huge trapeez of a white dress in which i would trip all over with my short legs.

1: Why should I care at all what your opinion on "symbols used at wedding" is??

2: So you appear to be assuming your own culture's concept of wedding attire is universal, when plenty of other marriages throughout other cultures do much different things.

3: Your own culture doesn't even universally adhere to these!! I've never been to a wedding where such a dress was worn.

I might wear a party dress short one but no big wedding gown for me nope. Its absurd FOR ME. But the owman wears white man wears black, the man has been expected to lose his virginity while the woman has to be holy pure white.

I'm not wearing white

Good for you, no one cares.

When I chose to forgo a traditional tuxedo in favor of what I wore to my wedding, I sure as hell didn't feel the need to tell everyone about it as if what I wanted to wear was of some interest to random strangers on the internet.

nor am I have nasty stinky white wedding cake I gag on either. My cake will be a cheese cake or pound cake mostly with chocolate sauce on the side.......

Yeah so I don't think you get invited to weddings, do you?? Having looked through my cake designer's portfolio back when I got married alone is enough to tell me you have no idea what typical wedding cakes are like.

And again, no one cares what you want to shove down your dang pie-hole. Or cake-hole in this case. Why do you think any of that is important to share, especially given the complete freedom people have in terms of wedding ceremony customization these days??

My point was the color white! Its symbolic for a woman being a virgin and having no experience so it is important.

Can't even keep the rambling in one post, can you??

Anyways what year do you think this is?? White wedding dresses aren't universal!! ESPECIALLY if you look outside of your own dang culture!!

No it isn't. That's not the historical reason for the color white, do some dang research before you ramble incoherently on the internet.

The reason some women wear white on their wedding day is that they've been emulating what Queen Victoria did two hundred years ago when she debuted the first white lace wedding dress.

Why did Victoria wear that dress?? Not as a symbol of purity, but to prop up the lace industry.

They aren't these days, but I suspect you may not know that because you don't get invited to weddings. Or are you a time traveler from the past??

Maybe you don't care, but I for one appreciate assurance I won't be unknowingly exposed to an STD. Human pair-bonding does that. A contract or at least promise assuring that arrangement is valuable.

Without that agreement, your partner has license to do whatever they want. From your rambling polygamy post, that may not concern you, but others of us want some degree of protection against STDs.

Then again, because of how rambling and incoherent your posts are, I can't actually tell if you are against marriage or just against marriage ceremonies in specific, so who's to say!!

Pfft, you whiny entitled Westerners. You try a traditional Hindu wedding and then get back to us. 7 days and nights, several heavy as sin saris (though admittedly resplendent and colorful), henna and a ton of jewelry on both parties. Like a thousand rituals and you can't even eat meat (sometimes even eggs are forbidden. But strangely milk is a must.) Not to mention like several banquets that would put the Royals to shame. Be thankful all you have is a white dress and like a day ceremony. Meanwhile us curries have to take off like an entire month just to support a cousin getting married. Though we do have pretty fire, so I guess there's that.
There's even a running joke in the South Asian community. When asked about potential marriage, we always say "I'm gonna have an 'I do, I do' marriage." Because it's seen as a freaking cake walk.
:p;)

So ive got a question for Christians sense you think I'm so slow. So 5 or 10 years back Christian leaders somehow did a poll on non Christians and Christians.

They took a poll about their sex lives and came to the conclusion that Christians who with held sex until they got married and chose marriage had a more exciting and satisfying sex life more then non Christians who live together first.

In the first place sense I don't want to know about the private sex lives Christians have why would even that poll, how embarrassing.

Second place its not true, if that were True only 10 percent of Christians would get divorce, But 60 percent of Christians get divorced, so why come out with the sex poll for Christians sense they're divorce rate is the same?

The queen explanation of why they wear white is way worse then being a virgin. The queen or princess for women is a stereotype for being perfect and looking perfect. Thanks for explaining why i am right. Its a stereotype and I have no intention of being on a pedestal.
