Weird question.

This is actually more of a psychological question, kind of a confirmation of what i already knew. ..., here's my next question. Would you rather kill someone, or rape someone? Yeah, i don't expect anyone to answer this. Just perhaps you get where i'm going with this, and you can ponder upon the strangeness of the human psyche.
Yours?

To me, if someone is murdered, at least it's over, done, and the person's soul moves on. If someone is raped? The horror doesn't stop, especially if someone is pregnant from the rape, being stalked, etc.

So... Rape is worse, IMO.

It was on fire when I laid down on it.

Wait, this is not what I said. Why did you quote me?

I believe that murder is worse than rape generally speaking. It is possible to recover from being raped, as I have done. It is pretty impossible to recover from being murdered.

Yeah, i've noticed that probably about 1 out of 4 people will pick rape as worse, but that the other 3 will pick murder as being worse. And yeah, unsurprisingly, no one is willing to say that they would rape someone. The reason i said you could wonder about the strangeness of the human psyche, is that even though 3/4 of the people i've spoken seem to think murder is worse, not a one of them was willing to say they would pick rape over murder. In fact, most seemed perfectly willing to say they would kill someone, even though they had just said it was worse. Does that not strike you as strange? The best part? I'm not any different, at least in how i feel. I rationally believe murder is worse, but from an emotional stand point, rape seems to be worse, especially when you ask yourself which you would do, if forced to make a decision. How is that not interesting?

This is not a black and white question but I think that generally speaking, murder is worse.

To answer your question, I would say rape.

Perhaps the answer springs from the fact that it is easier to kill than to rape. Especially if you are a man, you actually have to be excited by the rape in order to perform it. But with killing, this is not the case. Also, if you hate the idea of harming someone, it is most difficult to think about raping when that goes on for some time whereas killing may only take a moment. I think this comes down to what you can personally bare/tolerate for yourself rather than what you think is least harmful to the victim.

Just as I said that I think rape is worse than murder, I would rather kill someone than rape them.

I used the quote button. I wonder what happened? I'll go back and see.

... Okay, so I looked, and I must have misunderstood. Sorry.

What I mean is that you quoted me, seeming to say that you agreed with me, but I did not say that rape is worse than murder. I said the opposite.

Just clarifying.

I realize, which is why I edited my prior post and apologized for misreading your post. :) I was quite tired and misunderstood what you'd said, and realize upon re-reading that we weren't in agreement, so I changed the post to remove the quote from you.
