So it's back to 1994, or so it seems. The Republicans have taken the House, but the Democrats held the Senate, and Obama is not up for reelection. This is going to be an interesting next two years in Washington. The Republicans will now be able to pass some legislation, but it has to go through Obama first. And for all Obama's talk about reaching across the aisle--well, now he's pretty much going to have to.

Then there comes the issue of major legislative priorities. Immigration is very likely to take high priority. Entitlement reform may get underway. And though I'd like to see campaign finance reform occur, that will be one of many efforts the Republicans will probably block. Oh, and if you thought the last two years had seen a lot of heated debate in Congress, you ain't seen nothing yet. Remember Clinton-vs.-GOP?

Yeah, think it's safe to say the House is gone for Democrats. From what I'm seeing though, looks like they'll have the Senate at least.

And forget 1994, Tea Partiers are going to try and take us back to the 50's. :cover:

The democrats couldn't control the senate with 60 votes. I fail to see how they'll control it with 51.
