Bed.

I'll have a quick half hour or so sleep on the couch on the occasional afternoon after too much lunch

my best sleep, following conditions:
1. my room is completely closed (doors, windows etc)
2. there is no light coming in, it's complete dark
3. it's cold so that I can cover myself, that is not hot nor cold for sleep
4. my bed is 3x2 meters so that I have enough space
5. nobody wakes me up and nobody disturbs me during sleep, not even phone

I occasionally sleep on couch but bed is better

A bed on a ship that is miles out to sea, rocking slowly.

With the drone of fans and machinery around me, after a 12 hour shift.

I get to sleep best in bed, but I can't always stay there through the night. I have spine problems that the doctors will not operate on again (I had a 3-level lumbar laminectomy some years ago). So I fairly frequently migrate to the couch about half or two-thirds of the way through the night, so that I can alter my positioning enough to relieve pain. It's annoying, but works out okay.

If you can, maybe upgrade to an adjustable hospital style bed?

It's done wonders for my wife's back.

I mostly sleep in my bed. But my lounge area couch is sweet, too. I occasionally sleep in a hammock on the back porch. Mostly, the bed.

I can sleep anywhere which is not hard. My wife sleeps best in our bed (with me by her side, she is afraid of my heart condition).

I would have liked that kind of bed when my wife and myself could have slept with our two grandsons. :)

In the United States we don’t ration medical care.

While in the Marine Corps we learned how to sleep anywhere. The best place to sleep is in a bed. Especially near access to a gun for defense.
