It's silly to think the moon landings didn't happen. There were other countries extremely interested in the whole event and were tracking Apollo just as closely as we were. It would have been easy for them to discern where the Apollo signals were coming from.

Seems to me that it depends upon your attitude going into the research for an answer.
If you want to believe in some sort of conspiracy then you will find it.
There are numerous sites on both sides of the argument, not to mention the site that present much of the information from both sides and let you decide for yourself.

My question is what is the reason for the hoax?
Since no one has presented a reasonable explanation for the reason for there being a hoax, I figure it actually did happen.

Now do not get me wrong.
I am not basing my opinion on this alone.
Every point that the hoax promoters bring up has been successfully refuted (at least for me).
Since it is up to the Hoax supporters to present the evidence to support their accusation...

What is there to gain from faking it? Not all that much, other than being able to say "we were first. Woohoo"

So, I don't see why it would be a hoax

That would have been enough motivation in the 1960s.

Anyway, there are some fun things to imagine... there's some cool videos about the moon landing online. Ironic that a hoax like that propounds to be about a hoax.:D

Might make you decide that not only are you our daddy, but that you are the puppeteer and we are the puppets....

That was, in fact, the primary motivator behind the whole mission. Scientific discovery was incidental.

It might be a hoax inasmuch as the technology of the day was not up to such a technically challenging mission, plus the US' national prestige laid in the balance. A huge motivation for success at any price.
It was a rush job, a huge gamble. A screw up would have been beyond humiliating.

There is more memory, computing power and flexibility in an I-Pod than anyone had even dreamed of in the 60s. On-board computers held barely enough data to get the craft into orbit. They had to reload a whole new program just to get it out of orbit and on its way to the Moon.

Oh shoot, I can not believe I did that....

When you look at the poll numbers transfer one vote from Yes and put it in No. I just realized I hit the wrong button!

Violet.
I never believe things...
even big things...
just because they're plastered all over the media.

they don't call it "programming" for nothing.

I'd rather be a fool in the world's eyes...
than be easily fooled into seeing/believing
a "conjured"/mass produced reality into "being".

I don't look much to media (mediums)
for my in-formation.

but that's just me.

I don't know what to believe most of the time
while scanning the media displays.
I don't waste much time bothering myself about it anymore.
I have other things I'd much rather be doing.

Here is a home project for you. Take a bit of time and research how to locate the mirror that was placed on the moon by the Apollo missions. Then shoot a laser beam at that exact place. It should reflect back. There ya go. Mirrors on the moon, magically placed there just to confuse conspiracy theorists.

I think that the moon landing was not a hoax, because i don't know why they would make it a hoax. I think no differently of America that they reached the moon before any other country. However, it is not 100% defenite that it happened, so i have to remain open to the possibility that it did not happen.

I applaud your skepticism. I am not skeptical on this however, having actually bounced lasers off the moon to make measurements (I'm an Astronomy major in college atm.) But the argument from authority is as always, not a good argument :)

I sat up and watched it...
It was tracked here in the UK
and perhaps more importantly by Russia...
they would have been very keen to out American cheating were it not real.

Hey mods, is there any way of changing a vote? Just knowing that I accidentally voted for the wrong thing is annoying for me.

I just did a quick edit at your request. Would it be correct then that the poll should at the moment read that all who has voted believe it wasn't a hoax?

Peace,
