Pardon me for responding to a question directed @Kilgore Trout .

But I see this issue as similar to #BLM getting upset because the latest "suicide by cop" celebrity is referred to as colored, instead of black.

Who uses the term "colored" anymore? That is kind of ridiculous. I am not black, so I can't really speak to it being offensive or not. But, doesn't everyone know by now that black people don't like that term, as it reminds them of segregation times?

The differences I see here though, is that we are talking about two different cultures and two different languages. I don't know why it is so important to make such a distinction between Islamist and Islamic, but it could be cultural thing.
