If I'm asked, then I will tell, but other than that, I don't speak of religion that much. Most people actually assume I'm athiest.

I'm quite matter of fact and pleasent about it when asked but don't offer it up in general conversation. I even had a pagan friend , who I had not seen in about 15 years, start preaching to me when she found out.

I was excited the first week I became an ordained minister and didn’t worry who found out but then as time went by, I realized to be honest only when asked but that didn’t help matters. The problem with telling someone that you are a minister is that not only do other people feel they have to curb their personality and apologize all the time when they are around me but they somehow expect me to act differently too. It is a very uncomfortable situation for both parties and is not the reason why I became a minister.

Generally I say nothing and only give a hint until asked specifically. If they are really interested to know that I have a living Master then I explain a little. Mostly they are not really interested in details and are satisfied with the simple gist of it.

However, once in a while I take a liking to a person whom I feel would like to understand me a bit better so I do something. For example, an athiest friend of mine and I went to a hamfest and they handed out lottery tickets at the door. The gave both of them to me. Sudenly I new one of the tickets was a winner so I said; "You take this one, it is a winner." Later when they had the drawing I reminded him and it turned out that it was a winner. My friend is now an agnostic.
