What actually is in motion?

Then the question once again applies; what is actually moving? The string isn't moving, it is still but forces make this still string move, and those forces too are caused by forces. It's as if nothing moves except for pure potential energy.

I kinda get the same idea. I start to think instead of asking why something rather than nothing I would ask, why on is default instead of off. Then we ask what is on? Is there a positive balance of energy or action in the universe?

The distance between a whisper and it's shadow in a dark room.
The resonance coupling of adjacent protons.
The speed of circling electrons in a hydrogen molecule.
The void of the area from the container of the Cosmos.
The relativity of nothingness.

If an object is at rest it will remain at rest unless met by an equal and opposite force. Physics and potential energy have been on my mind a lot recently also.

You look at a fan blade, you may say they are in motion. But are they truly in motion, or are they still and are being moved? They do not move themselves, they are being moved by something else that they're connected to which is moving. But is that actually in motion either... and all of the way down.

You can't tell the difference between a frame of reference that's moving at constant velocity and one at rest, but you can tell the difference between one that's rotating and one that's not.

If you're standing in an elevator and you throw a ball, the ball will behave the same (as far as you're concerned) if the elevator is stopped or if it's moving at constant speed. However, if you're standing in a Gravitron (one of those spinning rides at the fair, for those who aren't familiar) and throw a ball, the path of the ball (again, as far as you're concerned) will be different depending on whether the ride is spinning or not.

Things can get infinitely small by the simple fact they have mass, no matter how small. That means that things aren't moving themselves, nothing moves. The moving thing continues to get infinitely smaller.

You come to the point, maybe nothing moves? But maybe this means that everything moves.

The answer would technically be energy, but that is too abstract to use as a source of movement. What makes potential energy? If kinetic energy comes after potential, and potential is created by kinetic energy (because if things didn't move there'd never be potential). Is it not a circle there?

Have you and I discussed the singularity?.....seems we have....
