What are you eating?

Blended soup with a bit of potato, cauliflower, a touch of leeks and mushrooms. It kind of makes a vegan cream of mushroom. And then got some baked sweet potato wedges.

Sad day today ... it snowed, but not too cold, so I went out and kicked the snow off some of the remaining kale and picked as much as I could. Had it for lunch, and more tonight. Stuff is hardy to about -5 C but tonight its supposed to get to -10 so the garden is kaput for another year - officially. No more fresh organic free produce until about next July. But November 8 is really late for Canuckistan.

Had a roast with potatoes, maple glazed carrots and parsnips, red cabbage and a nut cutlet yesterday. Was really tasty though next time I'll put in the parsnips for a bit longer.

For lunch I had some leftovers of that (was a LOT of veggies). And yes, I had a Sunday roast on a Monday. 'Cause I'm hardcore. :p

Now I'm having a wholewheat wrap filled with hummous, grated carrots, bit of red cabbage and baby spinach. I'm trying to use up the veggies I've got left so maybe it sounds a bit weird but it's really tasty and crunchy. Not to mention really pleasant for the eyes, it's so colourful.

Tonight will simply be wholewheat spaghetti, with a bit of soy mince and mushrooms added to the (commercial) "chunky veg" sauce.

Cheese and crackers. Simple but satisfying when you come home hungry and have to go to bed soon to do it all again tomorrow.

My mom used to make her own spaghetti sauce, and it left me thinking all canned and jarred sauces suck. A few of them are alright, but compared to homemade they are all just meh at best.

My mom as well, made pretty much everything from scratch. I agree but honestly, I'm lazy and the sauces are fine. It would be better if I made it myself but I can't be bothered.
