What are your 2024 Goals? - Need some recommendations!

For 2023, one of my biggest goals is to see more of the natural beauty our world has to offer through travel. I've always loved learning about new cultures and places, but haven't had the opportunity to travel extensively. That changes this year!

My plan is to start in Southeast Asia, with Singapore as my first stop this spring. I'm so excited to experience this vibrant city-state known for its food, gardens and multicultural heritage. As I start planning my itinerary, I wanted to put out a call - has anyone here recently visited Singapore that can offer some travel tips or advice? Anything from must-see attractions and hikes, to transportation recommendations or top places to grab a meal would be greatly appreciated.

After Singapore, I hope to continue exploring SEA with destinations like Thailand, Vietnam and Indonesia on my radar. I want to immerse myself in the local sights, flavors and sights of each place I visit. Mostly I'm looking forward to the adventure of traveling solo and making memories in stunning new landscapes.

For too long I've only seen pictures and read about far off places. In 2023, I aim to see more of nature's beauty live and in person. My trip to Singapore will kickstart this goal - if any of you have recommendations, please share! I want to make the most of the experience.

1. Have more money in my account than I do right now.

2. Have something to spend said money on.

3. Spent at least 12 months without alcohol (and no cheating).

4. Have a healthy intimate relationship for once.

5. Maybe move into a bigger better residence.

6. At least make plans to travel.

Hopefully capitalism will be my friend this year as I pursue these goals.

1/ Biggest plan is watch over my brother in law and help and guide him get settled into a half decent way of life. 2023 was extremely bad for him, 2024 is (so far) looking up

2/ Survive the year. Ive succeeded in previous years hoping this year is the same.

As for Singapore I've never been perhaps @Audie can offer some advice.

1) Early retirement. I've started the process already.

2) Pick between the the Appalachian Trail or Pacific Coast Trail. Figure out what parts I can go on to for adventure motorcycling. I don't want to run down any hikers along the trail. Probably the Appalachian as it's closest.

3) Maybe tour Europe instead, on a motorcycle of course.

When i was still at home there was a local tobacco and sweet (candy) shop. The owners retired, bought a couple of Honda goldwings, rode around the UK for a couple of years then shipped them to tour the US. They didn't come back.

Isn't the Appalachian Trail only a hiking trail? IIRC, they don't even allow (human-powered) bikes.
