Shankaracharya popularised Advaita Vedanta all over India and showcased its supremacy over other philosophies. He created five mathas or spiritual centres in northern ,eastern, western , southern and central India for the revival and spread of Hinduism and Advaita philosophy along with vedic knowledge in the seventh century A.D . This also helped to establish the spiritual and cultural unity of India.

Swami Dayananda Saraswati through the Arya Samaj helped in the diffusion of vedic knowledge to the lower castes and women, to whom it was forbidden till then, and all over the world as well. He campaigned against gender discrimination, casteism, and untouchability and helped to create a Hindu society guided by the ideals of equality, liberty and fraternity.

Swami Vivekandanda's fame lies in popularising the upanishads all over India and the world as well. He too fought against caste tyranny and discrimination, untouchability and worked for the upliftment of the lower castes.
