What Do Enlightened People Know that Others Don't?

It's not something you can give someone else, and religious figures... not many of them have much to give on this, if they could, IMO.

Okay. So what are we talking about, then when we use that word? It can't be knowledge, because knowledge can be passed to others.

Not all knowledge can be passed to others, things that come from experience aren't the same as reading a book. We can have sexual education, even watch what happens there, but until we've had it ourselves, our opinions are limited. Getting your first migraine, you'll have a bit of a different view on it than reading about it. We tend to forget how ignorant we were before we had this "knowledge", because it's a type of knowledge that somehow changes us. It's a similar deal with enlightenment, except that there's no way to watch it happen before we experience it and the change is deeper.

Interesting! Most of us outgrow enlightenment then because we outgrow the ages when we think we know everything. What a shame that happens!

What does having knowledge of everything have to do with being able to answer anything(creationist are experts)? Do you actually believe there are people that seriously believe that they know everything, regardless of how long it takes them to realize that they don't? Enlightenment is not an epiphany, or a moment of clarity. It is not the result of experience, knowledge, education, or social position. From a subjective perspective, enlightenment is a personal journey to find and understand, the single relationship between mind, body, and nature. Being enlightened is to be free of the doubts and insecurities that plaque the human condition, and the human spirit. The closer we are to achieving this goal, the more enlightened we become. From an objective perspective, we see those that exhibit this level of confident and personal freedom, as being enlightened. In a world that teaches us how to think, what to think, what to buy, how to behave and not behave, individuality itself can sometimes be mistaken for enlightenment.

Anyway, its just my opinion.
