What do Religion has to do with Us?

I question whether there are any "true" religions, but if you grant the possibility, then the question is after thousands of years and thousands of religions, why don't we know which one is true? What is the objective, failproof way to pick the correct one?
I believe one must first find the true God. Which God has distinguished himself by explaining the big questions I mentioned: How did life begin? Why do we suffer? Etc. Which God has accurately foretold future events, in writing, and then brought those events to pass, without fail? I believe the true God has communicated with us through the Bible, a book that clearly is "inspired by God." In that book alone, we find what the true religion is, IMO, and how to worship the true God in the way he chooses.

Pretty much all religions pretend to have those answers. None actually do.

The Bible is a collection of stories from primitive cultures thrown together by the men acting under orders of an English king centuries later, while excluding hundreds of other such stories that were also circulating at that time. These are simply the ones that seemed to have fewest conflicting points. Demonstrate that the actual authors are the ones named, and that those authors were inspired in some way by a god. Not so much interested in what you believe as in what you can demonstrate you know. People believe all sorts of things. Believing something has no bearing on the truthfulness of a thing.
