But in the case that you are able to read this I have a question. Are you really looking to a different term to use, or are you trying to justify using the term evolutionists? I would just like to know what you are trying to do.

To answer your question, it's for the sake of ease. For example, if I'm writing in a thread or post or whatever and I wan't to describe those who accept ToE and I call them 'evolutionists', then it goes off on another tangent, as rather than sticking to the subject in hand, I get told, 'Ah, that is not what I call myself...', where it's quite clear that if you walked into the street and asked Joe Public what they thought the word 'evolutionist' means, they would say those who accept the theory of evolution. If you asked Joe Public what 'creationist' means they'd say someone who believes in a creator. Simple.
The other descriptive terms as mentioned by others, by and large are not used by the general public on a regular basis. If you call me a Round-Earth Gravitationalist, whilst fitting, most people would not readily understand what you mean.
