What do you call yourself?

Atruthseeker, do you have me on ignore? I would just like to know so I won’t waste my time anymore. If you don’t respond to this I will assume you do have me on ignore.

But in the case that you are able to read this I have a question. Are you really looking to a different term to use, or are you trying to justify using the term “evolutionists”? I would just like to know what you are trying to do.

(Dude, I'm not ignoring you. I just can't answer all posts. (I have a life;)) )

To answer your question, it's for the sake of ease. For example, if I'm writing in a thread or post or whatever and I wan't to describe those who accept ToE and I call them 'evolutionists', then it goes off on another tangent, as rather than sticking to the subject in hand, I get told, 'Ah, that is not what I call myself...', where it's quite clear that if you walked into the street and asked Joe Public what they thought the word 'evolutionist' means, they would say those who accept the theory of evolution. If you asked Joe Public what 'creationist' means they'd say someone who believes in a creator. Simple.

The other descriptive terms as mentioned by others, by and large are not used by the general public on a regular basis. If you call me a Round-Earth Gravitationalist, whilst fitting, most people would not readily understand what you mean.

Many people who believe in evolution do not like being called evolutionists, saying it's wrong or lazy. (And even have a problem with that sentence...) Anyway, you all know what I mean, so in order for me to address you correctly, what do you call yourselves? ( I don't want to hurt your fragile egos! :D) Is it Evolutionists, Darwinists, Nnon-creationists/Materialists etc?
Ie, we may call ourselves 'creationists' and people know what we mean.

If people who accept the theory of evolution are called "evolutionists" or "Darwinists", then those who accept the theory of gravity should be called "gravitationists" or "Newtonists".

Then I will ask you for the third time. What is wrong with just using the phrase “people who accept evolution”? That is what you mean, so why not just say what you mean? This would eliminate any ambiguity, it would eliminate any tangents, and it would be simple. Is there any reason that you can think of for not using the phrase “people who accept evolution”?

Nonsense. It would save you time if you didn’t have to constantly explain yourself. You wouldn’t have to make threads like this (btw this is not the first thread we have had on this exact topic). Think of all the time it would save and headaches it would eliminate.

Why should I be defined by the weird beliefs of the creationist group of Christians?

There are lots of people with strange and unsupportable beliefs, however I do not feel the need to invent names for my self to show I do not agree with them.
Creationists belong to and are a subset of the general group of people considered as irrationals.

I dont agree with creationism or evolution

Evolution is great....but it only deals with physical processes...great if thats all you wish to stop at

creationism as defined by modern protestant christians is just plain over simplified garbage

...

So what would I label myself?

"One who thinks for themselves..."

Ok, so from now on it would be nice if people who accept evolution would refer to "creationists," as people who accept the Genesis explanation as literally accurate.

How do we know a large number of Creationists want that?

Stranger, you know Sun Tzu would tell you to calmly enjoy a cup of tea whiles our enemy destroys himself in ridicule, not to poke on the sore to change the path of destruction.
