What do you hang around your neck

Besides an albatross...

Just interested in how people might wear amulets and symbols which reflect their faith. Myself, I wear a silver Ankh, an owl pendant of Athena, and shock and suprise, a wooden crucifix, maybe I'm looking for some insurance. I'm not sure, but maybe the cross is a hangover from my Anglican upbringing. In anycase I never take it off.

I have never worn a religious symbol. Even when I was a child. I don't wear jewery or necklaces but have two necklaces, one of a shark tooth and one of sea shells. Both were gifts from ex-gf's.

I have a cross (that I can't wear) that my wife gave me on our engagement; it is a cross with two entwined rings(never seen one the like since). The trouble is that it is so worn that I am scared of wearing it.

I have another cross on a chain, but somehow, that one means nothing to me.

Well, hang on to it Michel, I lost a little cross I was given by a girl, always kinda missed it, it was silver with a turquoise inset, pretty thing really.

A noose! :biglaugh:
All kidding aside, I wear a beautiful gold chain with nothing hanging from it. I used to wear a link charm with a bunch of tiny charms hanging from it, but I've stopped wearing it. Too much on one tiny neck.

I suppose it is a symbol of capiltalism - I wear a Florentine gold necklace.

When I wear something around my neck, its is a silver chain with two things hung from it, Ayat Al Kursi, and the Name 'The God' in Arabic the three items having been bought in the Levant. However I don't now wear them often as I always forget to remove them when I rush to the latrine. I also wear two silver seal rings on my left hand, on my pinkie the seal of the templar, and on my ring finger a seal depicting 'une couronne ducale avec la croix de la Lorraine'. Oh and my beloved Breitling on my left wrist, there are times I ponder whether it constitutes an idol.

Depends on the mood I am in. If Im wearing the right outfit then a choker of some kind. At all times I wear a pewter pentacle but normally underneath my clothing and I am hoping to get a cross soon. All of my chains are broken at the moment so I'm not wearing anything right now. Can't exactly wear chokers with hoodies lol :).

I dont have a necklace, but I used to, and sometimes wear little collar pins, I have a little bear holding a heart that says Jesus Loves You, and a cross that says Paid In Full on it. I have several other little pins like that, but those are my favorites. I used to think it was a way to let people know I believe in Jesus and his Love, but now I feel that it is better to simply let people see Christ IN me, by my behaviour and treatment of others, than to see Christ ON me, and give them some preconceived notion of what I may be like. I am a very nonjudgemental person, as far as peoples sins go, we all sin, I know I sure do, I try to relate the free gift of forgiveness to those around me, kinda like, "not perfect, just forgiven". I wish I could help people understand that idea better, of course, it is through Jesus we are forgiven, I must say that.

I have no jewelery of any kind
Nor anything else I wear or dangle.
When I was about 10, I was given an elephant hair ring fixed with native african gold by an old lady.
But it was lost in the mists of time.( not true... I have Just remembered I gave it to a Dutch girl refugee on her birth day she had no presents it was the same year early 1945)
That was the only thing I have ever had.

I have also an eye of Ra somwhere, and my necklace of red garnets, the catch broke, I must get that fixed. As well as what I wrote in the first post, I also wear two gold chains.

My preferred watch is a Chronograph,I have threeof them, all diving watches as well. I would feel naked without having things strung around my neck, in the same way on the odd occasion I forgot to put a watch on, feels odd to me.

When I was younger, my b/f gave me a gold cross with a tiny (fake) diamond in the middle. I never took it off until I broke up with him, and then I lost it. Now I have a similar one that I wear occasionally. Both of them just gave me courage when I was in a tight spot. My second-favorite necklace is a gold butterfly that I got on my last vacation.
