When we moved to our new home we had a completely new bathroom installed (complete with Art Nouveau tiles naturally :) ). The bath went cos we don't use them (who wants to sit in a vat of their own filth?) and we had a big fab shower put in.

Chuckle, i knew a coal miner (in the days of coal mines) who swore by showering. He always said when asked "who wants to put their arse in a bucket of water then wash their face in it"

I know!

In our previous house on the rare occasion I had a bath (mainly to soothe backache) I felt the need for a shower when I got out of it - basically to rinse.

Though I stand in the bathtub to shower, I don't think I've had a bath for many decades, certainly not this century. A shower is much quicker and more convenient, and effortlessly can include a shave too.

Shower is what I prefer. The bathroom in my accommodation has the shower just next to the sink. There is no bathtub for me to stand in unlike in the house where I grew up.

By the way, I recall reading that the Neoplatonic philosopher Plotinus never bathed. He preferred a massage instead.

I seem to have sensory issues with showers.

When we had the bathroom built, we purposely left out a shower.

Wallpaper. A shower nozzle. Ares.

Not an ideal mix.
