Hey, BSL, trying to get your drift and I think we are somewhat talking past each other. I agree with the fact that without the chemical reactions and nerve impulses there would be no consciousness. But I fail to understand how those things are consciousness rather than the generator, if you will, of consciousness. Can you show that consciousness itself has physical properties, rather than the things that produce it? My understanding is that consciousness has no dimensions, no mass, and takes up no space. How can it be physical in nature?
