I miss RF having skins and not looking more-or-less like 50-billion other forums that all look like this one.

1. Yeah. I'll admit we had overkill on the amount, but we don't have alot of expressions that we used to have, not to mention we don't have an equivalent for many of the frequently used ones on the past site.
2. This one just seems odd that it was omitted since this, after all, a religious forums.
3. This one really needs to be added back since we have some members whose first language is not English. It doesn't have to be mandatory, but it can help avoid a lot of misunderstandings.
4. This one again seems odd to be removed because without we don't know necessarily how to address each other.
5. And the fact we don't have a button that adds the quote tags. I like that you can quote certain parts of a post, but I'd rather have one that works all the time and doesn't carry stuff over.
6. FRUBALS! Not "likes" but real Frubals that could have a personalized message added to them. Though the count was fun until the giving amount became hyper-inflated (maybe it would be fun to start everyone at 1 giving ability again and reset once it hits a certain limit?), it was always the message that made them special. They also made RF a unique forum as I have not seen another forum that has such a feature. And we had them for over a decade!

Looking at the website from IE for the first time. No wonder people were upset about ads. Three a page? For users?

i miss the people.
I am new but it seems lots of people left when the change happened.
I'm wondering if it's just a change in the forum attitude. It used to be threads that call all Muslims evil and demand they reform their religion and threads calling theists dummies would not have been allowed. Overall, we have become very intolerant towards these two groups.
I remember, years ago, when a "gays are going to hell" type of member was allowed to troll. This was very unusual, and seemed out of place. Now we tolerate people openly condemning gays to hell and telling Muslims that there religion is supposedly stupid, dumb, uneducated, and evil.. We also now allow people to declare themselves morally superior to another. RF has really went downhill.

I think the move has shaken things up. Members have left, but past members have resurfaced. Some groups that haven't been targeted in a while are now seeing another open season on them again.

As a queer, I cringe whenever LGBTQ's become the target du jour, after Muslim women, after LDS Christians, etc. It's no fun being the targeted group to **** on by folks wanting to just "tell it like it is."

RF goes through these cycles overall. Trolling tends to shift its focus as time passes and as people around the world share their relevant news and happenings. It triggers people's biases as everyone shares here their utopian as well as their dystopian visions. People also like things to change as long as it doesn't change their comfort zone and sensibilities TOO much, according to what presumably works all around them for their livelihood.

Multiquotes sticking around from other threads if you didn't want to use them in the one you're replying to this second.
Feeling like the people running the site were more responsive - This is totally subjective, I acknowledge that.

I haven't mentioned this because I thought it may just be one of my plugins interfering with it. But now that I know it isn't just me, it's easier to say the quoting feature of this forum software sucks. As much as we pull from outside sources, a button that adds the quote code tags in the text editor should have been a top priority, but rather it's entirely absent.
