What do you really do when you get there?

gnostic

The Lost One
You are in heaven or paradise, or whatever you want to call it.

Your reward is that you for being "good", "virtuous" or "faithful" is that you will get to live forever. There will be no pain or suffering, not like the sinful ones are in hell, tormented forever...

But for those in heaven, what would or can you do when get there?

How will you spend your time on, when you have forever?

Neither Christian Bible (NT) or the Qur'an make clear what you can or would do with your reward. Can you care to guess what it would be like living in heaven? But more importantly - what do you spent your time on?

Hmm, dunno. Chillax with God I guess, explore the multiverse or maybe hang out in my own personalized world/heaven like the one in Supernatural?

Kinda seems like it will be something beyond human imagination though so speculation is pointless, hence why no one does it.

I always found the idea of a heaven-like afterlife to be laughable at best. What is it supposed to be? A sustained dopamine/serotonin explosion in your incarnated body for all eternity?

I can't see how any rational thinking person could hold such beliefs in the first place; let alone extend the already void discussion even further with subjective gibberish about "what to do" when you apparently "get there".

Not buying it.

You keep on spiritually growing and expanding through new experiences until you realize it is all One Consciousness/God/Brahman. Then all is in pure being-bliss-awareness consciousness. And then a new play/universe of creating the illusion of separateness. No time for boredom:)

Heaven is for me the pure Source or Consciousness, when we experience the Source we have experience heaven, heaven is who and what we truly are.

I assume that this isn't directed towards those of us expecting Valhalla, Folkvangr or the like?

If Freyja is anything like they say she is, I rather spend my eternity in Folkvangr with the playful goddess than with dour-faced, one-eye All-Father.

This song sums up how stoopid some ideas about heaven are. FWIW, heaven is nirvana, the peace beyond craving and aversion, IMO. You don't need to die to experience it.

We don't know but the one who made it pleasurable on earth is capable of making it
more pleasurable on the paradise.

The quran described the heaven itself as being a huge place which its width is equal to
the distance between the earth and the heavens, full of gardens and rivers which is
by itself is enjoyable.

The prophet said no eyes has ever seen it, no ears has ever heard about it and no
mind can imagine it.

Go look for Jim Morrison, Elvis, Jerry Garcia, George Best, Duncan Edwards and some Boddingtons Bitter brewed at the long closed Strangeways Brewery and have a party

I suppose subsist on dates. We will not be required to till the land, after all, it is heaven, and people who reached there have worked hard for it.

Well the dimensions are mind-boggling - 91 billion light-years. What mode of transport is available there or we remain only in our allotted quarters? The irony! People here will die for clean air and water!

I hope they will have trumpets there,
and little miniature thrones,
and real big swords,
and paths of gold, and angels everywhere,
sprinkling rose petals all about.
One will not have to worry about food,
or drink, one doesn't have to drink or eat,
or make messies on the paths.
I wonder to where the golden paths lead,
maybe to our palaces made just for us, or we, or me !
I know........nonsense !
But that's what a lot of people really think.
Go figure !!
