What do you think about religious fanatics?

I think the making of a fanatic is an interesting psychological phenomena. It all starts with fear of parents. "If I don't go to Church/Mosque/etc my dad will probably throw me out of home or beat me to death". Then it follows with the fear of being expelled of the tribe or religious community. "If I don't guide my life according to what's written on the book, I'll be expelled from religious school". Or "If I believe in something different I'll be out of the community and getting a job will be much harder". Then comes the fanatic that really believes or at least fears to be punished by God if he doesn't continue as a member of the "club" (just in case God really exists). Poverty and ignorance also lead to fanaticism. Nothing better to someone that lost all hope than convincing him or her of the promise of Paradise. "You won't enjoy anything here, but if you behave well, the 71 virgins are for you". It's all basically brainwashing and mind control that starts from the most tender childhood. In fact, it is the most widespread form of child abuse. Fanaticism is a product of fear of questioning authority, loosing the livelihood or ending up punished, in this life or in the afterlife.

And the energy which one feels when one pronounces divine names or enters a Church worsens the matter; because they convince the devotee that everything he was taught is real. When in truth, "holy" books just tell some few truths veiled in allegories, which are in turn, based on older myths. All mixed up with rules of behaviour established by a manipulating Elite. So the whole truth about divinity is not revealed, but you end up believing everything in the book is real because, you really felt something! Or some miracle did happen. You swallow the whole fruit, with rotten parts and all, just because the small piece you tasted was good.

Now let's see the manipulations of the Elite that rules the World. Observe that most religious teachings either forbid or discourage becoming independent, powerful or even wise (since if you get too wise in secret things, you could get even wiser than your rulers!). Examples are ideas like "God has the power, you have nothing", "humans are not wise enough to use this power, let it in the hands of God", "those things are of God and humans aren't supposed to know", "only the prophets chosen by God could perform miracles", "being rich will never lead you to Heaven", etc. Another example is the one that says "we are all God", which is excellent to make everyone have the same way of thinking. Unify the way of thinking of the herd; so every single person becomes predictable. Forbid violence in all cases, except when it's used by rulers; so you can commit crimes against your people with impunity. The masses will never rebel against you if they think violence is punished by God or karma. That's why freethinkers and mavericks were always the enemy of the Elite.
