That is bound to happen naturallyHappiness is meaningless without a frame of reference which includes experiences that are not happy.
That is bound to happen naturally
I think a good life strives for happiness. Experiences that are unhappy would be in spite of, but unavoidable. The best we can do in those situations are to find means to find happiness, in a perfect balance for both the short term and the long term to be equitable, in whatever way we can. It's bound to happen naturally, but, it is often overlooked and neglected.

I’d say a spectrum is more what I have in mind. Because to be considerate of future/long term happiness requires some sacrifice in the present and very likely mistakes along the way. But there are certainly things that could mutually exclusive to happiness which we need to accept as unavoidable. You're describing a spectrum? Or a mutually exclusive pairing?
Spectrum: happy <<<>>> unhappy
Mutually exclusive pair: happy / unhappy
Where do challenges exist in this philosophy?

YesChallenges are included in the spectrum? Like this?
Happy <<< challenges >>> Unhappy
Sounds like hedonism. Nothing wrong with that, except that it may be a bit simplistic.the best one life can live, is when they are both (1) happy with where they are at in the present, and (2) happy with the path they’re putting themselves on for the future.
